AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE SIDEWALKS, CURBS AND GUTTERS, TOGETIi'ER '3ITH ALL NECESSARY MANHOLES, INTAKES, CATCH BASINS AND SEVER PIPE CONNECTIONS, ON BOTH SIDES OF HARRISON STREET FROM THE '.9EST CURB LINE OF 19TH STREET TO THE EAST PROPERTY LINE OF 21ST STREET, EXTENDED; IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, IN ACCORDANCE 1ITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICZTIONS PROVIDED II THEREFOR BY THE CITY ENGINEER OF SAID CITY, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTI PROPERTY MINERS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCK COST MAY BE PAID FOR UNDER i THE TEN YEAR PAMIENT PLAN. ij BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENER11L COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAEUCAII, II KENTUCKY, SECTION 1. I ,.; That concrete sidewalks, curbd and gutters, together with all necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins and sewer pipe connectiins, s be,constructed on both sides of Harrison Street, from the west curb line of 19th Street to the east property line of 21st Street, exItende�, in the City of;Paducah, Kentucky, in accordance with the plans and specifications provided therefor by the said Engineer of said City, add such plans and specifications on file in the office of said City Engineer are hereby referred to and made part hereof as if specifically set forth herein.` SECTION 2. Said improvement shall be made under the direction and supervision of the City Engineer and the Board of Public N'orks of said, City, and shall be commenced at the time designated by contract for the performance thereof and completed on or before December 1st, 1925. ji SECTION 3, i II The cost of such construction shall be paid for wholly I by the property owners fronting and abutting thereon, to be apportioned and assessed against the property and the property owners abutting thereon, according to the number of abutting feet, except that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah as required by law. i SECTION 4. The contractor awarded the contract for the work herein Provided shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of Sections 3086, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes. SECTION 5. The Mayor of said City is hereby authorized and directed to execute all written contracts required of the successful bidder for the construction of said improvements. SECTION 6. Bids shall be received for the improvements herein provided for, according to the plans and specifications and profile furnished by the ,City Engineer of said City, and the contract therefor shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the Board of Public Works and the General Council, and said General Council may accept any bid which appears to be for the best interest of said City. SECTION 7. The Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the construction of said improvements, which bids !'said Board will report to the General Council, together with its recommenda- tion for the acceptance of any of same or the rejection of all of same. i SECTION B.
