WHEREAS, the City Engineer and his assistants have all the
work in the matter of street construction and other improvements
now in prospect for the year 1925, that they will be able to take car,
of; and,

WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable that expert engineers be
employed to investigate and approve the plans for sewer lateral
system as now prepared; and furnish information, supervision and
expert advice concerning the installation of said sewer laterals, the
letting of contracts for the construction of same, and all other
matters material to the successful installation of such system: Also
for the sanitary services for storm water seviers provided for in
Resolution of this date:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF P- LUCeH, KENTUCKY:
jThat J. N. Bailey, Mayor and W. M. Rieke, as Chairman of the
Finance Committee, be and they are hereby authorized, after careful
investigation, to select a suitable engineering firm, (1) To investi-
gate, modify or approve the plans of the City of Paducah for the
system of lateral sewers in the five sanitary sewer zones of said
I'City. (2) To assist said City in securing competition ffom contractor'
" aualified from experience to do such viork in a satisfactory manner
1(3) to supervise the construction of said work, and see that the plans
land specifications are complied with, and the installation made in
accordance with lines, grades etc.
Said Tcayor and Alderman Rieke are requested to make such
investigation as promptly as possible and to recommend some suitable
engineering firm with whom said City may enter into u contract for t
purposes aforesaid.
This resolution shall take effect and be in force from its
passage and approval.
