MONROE STREET TO THE SOUTH CURB LINE OF MADISON STREET, EXCEPTING I THE INTERSECTION HERETOFORE CONSTRUOTED, AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS OF THE ' CITY EDiGINEER, TOGETHER l'JITH ALL NECESSARY MANHOLES, IIQTAK}:S, DfiAIiI i PIPES AND SE%7ER PIPE CONNECTIONS, IN THE CITY OF PA DUCAH, KENTUCKY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FURNISHED THEREFOR r �I BY THE ENGINEER OF SaID CITY, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY D!'JNERS, AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH COST MAY BE PAID UNDER THE 10 YEAR PAY!,'! -,NT PLAN. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. I` That concrete sidewalks on both sides of North 9th Street from the north property line of Monroe Street to the south curb line' of Madison Street, excepting the intersection heretofore constructed I as shown on the plans provided by the City Engineer, together with all necessary manholes, intakes, drain pipes and sewer pipe connections, in the city of Paducah, Kentucky, be constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications furnished therefor by the Engineer of said City, which plans and specifications are now referred to and made part hereof, as if Specifically set forth herein. SECTION 2. Said improvement shall be made under the.direction and 'i supervision of the City Engineer and Bbard of Public Works of said lYl'..:c City, dnd shall be commenced at the time designated by contract for the performance thereof, and completed on or before December 10th, 1924. SECTION 3.'' The cost of such construction shall be paid for wholly by the property owners fronting or abutting thereon, to be apportioned and assessed against :the property and property owners abutting there- on, according to the number of abutting feet, except that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah, as required by law. SECTION 4. The contractor awarded the contract for the work herein provided shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of Sections 3096, 3100, 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes. NO. 214. SECTION 6. The bids shall be received for the construction of said work, in accordance with the plans and specifications made and provided there- for by the Engineer of said City, and the contract therefor shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly reserved to reject any and all bids within the discretion of the General Council and said General Council may accept any bids which it deems for the best interest of said City. SECTION 7. The Board of Public Works of said City is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the construction of said improvement, which bids said Board is directed to report to the General Council with its recommendation for the acceptance of any of same or the rejection of all of same. SECTION 8. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and i, after its passage, approval and publication.
