BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COLUJISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF i 11ADUC1iH, KENTUCKY Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation, to sell, expose for sale, or have in their roossession' for sale in the City, eggs that are not properly labelled as to class or kind and which have not been candled and founds to be in good con- dition, within four (4) days previous to the time of sale, by candling same, or to sell in the City eggs that are deteriorated in quality without giving full notice of that fact by proper signs or labels to the purchaser or consumer. Section 2. Storage eggs, to be properly labelled and candled, must have attached to the container from which they are sold a printed label bearing the words "Cold Storage Eggs", or similar description if the eggs have been stored by other means than in refrigeration, and the name of the day and month in which they were placed in cold, or other, storage - and the name of the day and month in which same were withdrawn from said storage. Said label to be not less than ten (10) inches square with letters not less than two (2) inches in height, and said eggs to be free from rotten and spotted and badly shrunken eggs. Eggs known as seconds must not be sold as being of the first class, and these terms shall have the same meaning as applied commercially. Section 3. That it shall be the duty of the Health Officer of the City of Paducah, without charge, to grant permit to every person quali- fied to candle eggs, who shall apply for same, giving him a registered number, which number shall be stamped - together with the date and time of candling - on every package of eggs candled by said person. Section 4. Fiat it shall be the duty of the Health Officer to suspend the permit of any candler for a period of six (6) months who shall misrepresent in any way the quality, kind or condition of eggs candled by him, and to cause a notice of such suspension of his or her permit to be published - and continuance in the business of selling eggs of his candling without such permit shall be as violation . of this Ordinance. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation to sell eggs in cases, boxes, or other container, bearing the name of another person or persons, Firm or corporation, unless he or they.be true and larful agents of same. Section 6. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation, to transfer eggs from properly labelled. case, box, or package to another, except to one bearing their orn2 name and label, thereby assuming entire responsibility for the condition of said eggs. Section 7. kny person, firm, company or corporation which shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be fined not less than Five (5;5.00) Dollars, nor more than Fifty (",50.00) Dollars for each separate offense.
