The City Stenoyrapher shall transcribe and prepare the minutes of the Board of Commissioners, record all ordi- nances, resolutions, motions and other matters which may be required to be spread upon the records of the proceedings of the Board of Commission- ers, and shall write all contracts, ordinances, resolutions and other papers for and on behal £ of the Commissioners, and perform such other duties as may be required by the Board of Commissioners. He shall perform such duties as are re- quired of him by law, and such other duties as may be required of him by the Board of Health and the Board of Commissioners. SECTION 3. The Commissioner of _ublic Safety shall have charge of, and be the head, respectively, of the Polioe and Fire Departments of the City of Paducah, ani all employees, officers and agents, working with, or under said Department, shall be under the orders and directions of said Commis- sioner of Public Safety. SUB -SECTION 1. A C HI F OF THE FIRE DEPARTEVENT, who shall receive a salary of Eighteen Hundred Q1800.00) Dollars annually, and, as such Chief, he shall) be the executive head of the Fire Department of the City, subject to the orders and directions of the Commissioner of Public Safety, and perform such duties as may be required of him by the Commissioner of Public Safety. He shall also be the Building Inspector of the City, and perform such duties as are required of the Building Inspector by ordinances of the City of Paducah. SUB -SECTION 2. FOUR CAPTAWS OF THE FIRE DEPiLRTI.;sNT, .,iho shall each receive a salary of Thirteen, Hundred and Eighty (9'1380.00) Dollars annually. Said Captains shall be assigned, respectively, by the Chief of the Fire Depart - i ment, subject to the orders and directions of the Commissioner of Public Safety, to the various departments of the City. SUB-SECTIOU 3. EIGHT=' FIRZItZN, who shall each receive a salary of Thirteen Hundred and Twenty (N1320.00) Dollars annually, and T70 FIR31-2.11, who shall each receive a salary of Eleven Hunired and Forty (;;1140.00) Dollars annually, and who shall be assinned to the various fire departments of the City of Faducah by the Chief of the Fire Department, subject to the order's and directions of the Commissioner of Inblic Safety. The Commissioner of Public Safety shall have the authority to charge said Firemen from one department to another and to change the hours in which said firemen are required to be on duty, from time to time. The Commissioner of Public Safety shall have the right and authority to assign said Firemen from one post of duty to another. SUB -SECTION 4. A CHIEF PECHANIC, rrhe shall be under the direction and super- vision of the Commissioner of Fublic Safety, and who shall look after, and keep in good running order, all of the motors of the City of Padu- cah in the Several Departments thereof, and shall perform such other duties as may be required of him by the Commissioner of Public Safety. He shall receive a salary of Eighteen Hundred ($1800.00) Dollars annu- ally. SUB -SECTIO_' 5. A CHIEF OF POLICE, who shall have charge of the Police Depart- ment, under the direction and supervision of the Commissioner of Public Safety, and who shall be the ranking officer in said Department, next to the Commissioner of Public Safety. He shall perform the duties of Chief of Police in said Department, under the direction and supervision of the Commissioner of Public Safety, and he shall receive a salary of Eighteen Hundred ($1800.00) Dollars annually. SUB-SECTIOI: 6. A CITY JAIMR, who shall perform such duties as are required of him by ordinance, and such other duties as may be required of him by the Commissioner of Public Safety, and who shall receive a salary of Thirteen Hundred and Twenty (9"1320.00) Dollars annually. SUB -SECTION 7. NINETEEN PATROLLEi:, who shall each receive a salary of Thir- teen Hundred and 'Twenty 01320.00) Dollars annually. It shall be the duty of said Patrolmen_ to act as Police Officers of the City of Paducah, and, in that respect, to perform such duties, in connection with the police Department, as may be assirne3 to them, from time to time, by any of their ranking officers, and to be on :duty during such hours as may be established by the Co nissioner of Public Safety, and the Commis- No. - Ordinance No. sioner of Public Safety shall have the authority to change such hours or such duties from time to time. The Commissioner of Public Safety shall have the authority to assion as many of said Patrolmen to plain cloth duty as he deems advisable from time to time. The Commissioner of Public Safety shall further have the authority to prescribe, from time to time, the character and design of uniform to be worn by the men of said Depart- ments, and require each member of said Fire and Police Departments, who are placed in said Departments, to wear the kind and character of uniformjf adopted by him. He shall further have the power to make such rules and regulations, with the approval of the Board of Commissioners, as he deems advisable, from time to time, and shall make such orders as he deems Iiadvisable, from time to time, in the general manaRement ard government ofthe Poice and Fire Departments. DWARTIENT OF PUBLIC 1ROIERTY. SEECT IOR 4. A CITY PHYSICIM, ara one ASSISTANT CITY PHYSIC IAN, both of whom shall be regular practicina physicians of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and who shall be paid, respectively, a salary of Twelve Hundred (01200.00) Dollars annually for the City Physician, and a salary of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars annually for the Assistant City Physician. The assist- i ant City Physician shall be a colored doctor, aid it shall primarily be i his duty to attend to the colored charity patients of the City, but who shall, in addition thereto, perform such other duties as may be required of him by the City Physician. The City Physician shall attend to and have supervision over, and vive medical aid to all indigent or pauper Patients of the City of 'Paducah, and when called upon or directed by the head of his Department, he shall perform such duties, from time to time, as may be required of him in giving medical aid to or attending to the paupers and charity patients of the City. Said City Fhysician ard Assistant City Physician shall perform such other duties, as may be re- quired of them, respectively, from Limo to time, by the Board of Commis- sioners. The City Physician shall attend such meetings of the Hospital Board 1 as directed and required of him by said Board, arra shall give such advice and aid to said Board, and perform such duties in connection with the maintenance, management and operation of Riverside "oopital, as required of him b,�.,- said Hospital Board. 3UB-SACTIOY 1. He shall be on duty at such hours, and perform such duties in connection with said scales as may be required of him by the Commission- er of Public Property. SUB-S.MIOIT 2. A SEXTON OF OAK GROVE C;�;:_i:TLRY, who shall reside in the house pro- vided for such Sexton now in Oak Grove Cemetery, and who shall receive a salary of Ten Hundred and Eighty (:;1080.00) Dollars annually, and shall do all necessary hauling for the Cemetery at his o,�m expense. He shall perform such duties as may be required of him, from time to time, by the Commissioner of Fublic Property. SUB-S3QTIOI? 3.
