this day filed a. petition before the Board. of Commissioners touching the
gravity and complication of the coal supply of the city of Paducah that
is likely to cripple the various manufacturing industries of the city and
deprive many private consumers of the right to obtain coal for fuel
purposes; and,
V1HERE_QS, under the orders of the Fuel A ministrator, the West
Kentucky Coal Company has been converted into a. monopoly and is now re-
ceiving all the coal to sup-oly the needs and deutands of Paducah, both
steam and domestic, and the other nine coal dealers of the city are
receiving no coal whatsoever, a.nd their, business has been practically
confiscated and turned over to said ':lest ?Kentucky Coal Company; nova,
therefore,
BE IT RESOTWEED BY THE BOARD OP CO.I�:=ISSIOlIERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, _CRETUCKY:
Section 1. That the situation be at once placed before the Regional
Coal Committee at Atlanta, Georgia, and_ the United States Federal Fuel
Administrator at �Jashington, D. C., with the earnest rertuest that the
situation be at once corrected in order that Paducah may not be deprived
of a reasonable amount of fuel coal for all purposes.
Section 2. INe further recommend that the coal supply now being
furnished Paducah thru the West _Kentucky Coal Compare7 be distributed to
all the coal dealers of Paducah at the mine price plus the freight_as
fixed by the Federal Fuel Administrator, in order that there will be no
discrimination against the other nine dealers, the public utilities or
their patrons. In other words, that all coal mined by the ,'lest Kentucky

Coal Company to be sent to Paducah be equitably apportioned and pro-
rated among the ten coal dealers and public utilities in Paducah at the
aforesaid price and rates.
Section 3. That a copy of this Resolution, together with a copy of
the petition this day received and filed, above referred to, from the
said coal dealers, be at once forwarded by the bl�iyor of the City of
Paducah to the Regional Coal Committee and the Federal Fuel Administrator,
and also to our Congressman, with the request that our Congressman take
immediate steps to have this condition corrected.
