HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 7, Page 459, No Resolution NumberNo. �- - 7 Ordinance No._ -- WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Commissioners that since the first of June, 1919 there aie very few persons working or being used on ythe chain gang in the city of Paducah; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO1MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: Section 1. That the positions of chain gang foreman and assistant chain gang foreman be and the same are hereby abolished, and that after the passage and recording of this Resolution there shall be no. chain gang foreman or assistant chain gang foreman in the city of Paducah. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this Resolution be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and record. Passed by the Board of Commissioners August 6, 1919. That the office of Chaingang and Street Foreman be and. the same is hereby created, and after the .passage of this Resolution it shall be 'the duty of such Chaingang and Street Foreman to exercise and perform all of the duties heretofore devolving upon the Chaingang Fore:ran and Assistant Chaingang Foreman, and to attend to all auties pertaining to the Chaingang and Street Foreman. Section 2. BE IT FURTHER RBSOL�F_D that the salary of such Chaingang and Street foreman be, a_nd the same is hereby fixed at the sun of eighty- five ('85) dollars per month, to be paid as now provided by ordinance. Section 3. 13E IT FURTHER R 'SOLS D that the said Chaingang and Street Foremen be hereby required to give a bond before entering upon the discharge of his duties, said bond to be and the same is hereby -Fixed at the sum of one thousand (�„1,000) dollars, and sa�ae to be renewed as other bonds of persons serving the City are required to be renevred under 0 the ordinances of the City. Section 4.
