The PADUCAH WATER COITPANY is hereby notified that the CITY OF I PADUCAH will exercise the option or privilege to purchase the water works now owned and operated by the Paducah !','ester Company and of the property connected therewith, at a fair and reasonable valuation, at the expiration of the present five year period, as set out in its franchise ordinance of the City of Paducah approved September 30, 1884; and the Paducah Water Company is requested to submit to the City of Paducah, thru its proper officers: the Isiiayor and Board of Commissioners of said City, a -proposition in writing, giving the fair or reasonable valuation of. said property, and upon the reception of same, if the City of Paducah declines to pay the price or accept the valuation so in dicated, it:will proceed to select a disinterested expert, not a resident of the county of -McCracken or interested in the Water Vlorks, or in the purchase thereof by the City, in any way, and will request and does hereby request the said ''dater Company, in the event the City of Paducah declines to purchase the i--iater works of said Company, at the valuation fixed by it as hereinbefore indicated, that it will and does hereby notify the said Water Company that it,will require of it to also select a disinterested expert, who, together with the one selected by the City of Paducah, shall fully inspect and -investigate the value of the Water Clorks in the city of Paducah and fix a fair and reasonable price therefor; and in the event that the said persons so selected: one by the City and one by the Paducah Water Company- cannot agree upon the price or fair and reasonable valuation of the said ['later Works, that the two so selected shall select a third disinterested person, not a resident of the city, and the three shall then proceed to fix a fair and reasonable valuation; and if the City so elects, upon a vote of the people, it will immediately take steps to accept the water works at the sura indicated by the said experts, or make such arrangements as may then be agreed upon between the City of Paducah and the Paducah ':'later Company; and in case no agreement can be arrived at, to take such legal steps as may be advisable and necessary to consummate the purchase of said Water Works by the City of Paducah.
