AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION AND PPPOIIQTLIBITT OF TAE
PADUC1dI HOLE GUARDS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND FOR THE DXCCUTIOIT OF
BOND.
WHEREAS, the Paducah Home Guards of the City of Paducah have ten -
dared and offered their services to the City of Pa.dneah; and,
V1HEREAS, it is the sense of the Board of Commissioners of said
City that such services of said Paducah Home Guards sh all be accented,
and that members of same shall be gmanted police Powers; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF GOiLiISSIOSERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, IT'NTUCKY:
Section 1.- That there shall be an organization of the Paducah
Home Guards in the City of Paducah, Iientucky, composed of such men as
shall be accepted and sworn in by the Hayor of the City of Paducah.
Section 2. That police power is hereby granted all such members
of said Paducah Home Guards as shall be administered the constitutional
oath of office by the Mayor and sigh the bond provided in section three
hereof.
Section 3. =11 members shall sign and execute a joint and
several bond in the sum of ten thousand (;;10,000) dollars, conditioned
upon the faithful performance of such duties and services as may be
required of them by the iTayor of the City of Paducah, and the iaayor is
hereby authorized and empovered to approve such bond and accept same
upon the signing of it by the members of said Paducah Home Guards as
either principal or surety, or both, and a bonding company shall not be
required to sign such bond as surety thereon.
Section 4. Police Power of members of said Paducah Home Guards,
or any of same, may be cancelled, with or without cause, by the mayor
or Board of Commissioners at any time.
Section 5. Said Paducah Home Guards shall perform any and ali
services required by the 1ayor of the City of -Paducah, and shall at all
times cooperate with the Commissioner of Public Safety of said city.
Section 6. Said Paducah Home Guards shall abide by all the
ordinances, rules and regulations observed by policemen in the city of
Paducah.
Section 7. The application signed by each member of said
Paducah Home Guards is hereby made a part hereof as fully as if
copied herein.
Section 8. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its py.ssage.
