BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COLRITISSIONERS OF THE CIT' OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
That we extend the Rotary Club of the City of Paducah, on behalf
of the City's poor, a most hearty vote of thanks for the generous re-
sponse of that Club in assuming the burden of raising funds to alleviate
the suffering entailed by the extremely cold weather and unprecedented
snows. The prompt action of the Rotary Club in raising funds so badly
needed, to the extent of about twelve hundred dollars, in only a few
hours, demonstrates the liberality and unselfish spirit of the Rotarians.
This Club is truly patriotic, public spirited, and humanitarian
in all of its undertakings. It is truly alive to every opportunity of
giving real service for humanity, and is always found in the vanguard
when any community is stricken by the elements, and is always ready to

alleviate suffering when any class of people is rendered helpless.
Vie especially desire to thank President Percy Paxton and Secre-
tary Elliott C. Mitchell for their activity and untiring efforts. We
also thank Messrs. Joe K. Exall and Ralph Yakel, Superintendent of
Schools, and the Retail P'Ierchants Association, for their splendid co-
operation with the Rotary Club.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a vote of thanks be extended the
J West Kentucky Coal Co. for a carload of coal so generously donated by it.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a vote of thanks be extended to each
individual who participated in any way by donating or assisting in the
raising of funds for this worthy cause.
