HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 7, Page 327, Ordinance Number 118No. Ordinance No. AN ORDINANCE ASSESSING THE ABUTTING PROPERTY ON BOTH SIDES OF A TIVENTY (20) FOOT ALLEY LYING IN THE LINE OF THE EXTENSION OF THIRTEENTH STREET, BETWEEN TENNESSEE AND JONES STREETS, I14 THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, THE SUPT OF TWENTY NINE (299') CENTS PER FRONT FOOT. VMEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky has heretofore, on the 25th day of September, 1916, adopted an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A TCIEIITY (20) FOOT ALLEY LYING IN THE LINE OF THE EXTENSION OF THIRTEENTH STREET, BET'.VEEN TENNESSEE AND JONES STREETS, IN THE CIT`I OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY GRADING AND GRAVELLING SAME"; and, WHEREAS, in accordance with said ordinance it is provided that the cost of the construction of said alley be paid for by the abutting property owners on both sides thereof, except that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah, as required by law; and, SIIEREAS, pursuant to said ordinance a contract was, on the 28th day of October, 1916, entered into by and between Yancn & Johnson of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and the City of Paducah for the construction of said alley; and, l7HERE4S, said contract has been completed in all respects and the improvement therein provided for has been accepted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah on the 27th day of August 1917, pursuant to recommendation made therefor by the Commissioner of Public Works of said City- now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMIISSIONERS OF TEE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: Sec. 1. That all the property on both sides of said alley be and ' the same is hereby assessed the sum of Twenty-nine (29y1) cents per front foot for the cost of construction of said alley by grading and gravelling same. Sec. 2. That all the funds derived from the assessment of said property shall be used for the purpose of paying off the special tax bills issued against said property, pursuant to Section 3096 of the Kentucky Statutes.
