HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 7, Page 311, Ordinance Number 111[Vol Ordinance No. ZZ AN ORD1I11,NCE ALIENDING AND RE-ENACTING SUBSECTION II, SUBSECTION IV, AND SUBSECTION V OF SECTION FOUR (4) OF AN ORDIVaNCE ENTITLED "AN '• ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE -iPPOINTLiENT OR RETENTION, BY THE BOARD OF C0321ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICERS, AGENTS AND ELIPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCiH, =ITUCKY, AND FIXING THEIR SALARIES, POWERS AND DUTIES", PASSED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON JANUARY 3, 1916, AND RECORDED ON' JANUARY 3, 1916. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COLMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, XENTUCKY: Section 1. That Subsection II of Section Four (4) of an ordinance en- titled: "AP! ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE-bl'POINTMENT OR RETENTION, BY THE BOARD OF CO-1ZISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICERS, AGENTS AND M,PLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, =ITUCKY, AND FIXING THEIR SALARIES, POWERS ADD DUTIES", passed by the Board of Co=issiorers on January 3, 1916, and recorded on January 3, 1916, be and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows, to -wit: SUB -SECTION Il. ELEVATOR OPERATOR. These shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners one Elevator Operator for the elevator in the City Hall, at a salary of Fifty (450.00) Dollars per month, whose duty it shall be to attend to the operation of said elevator during such hours as may be prescribed by the Commissioner of Public Property, and to perform sue other duties as may be required of him by the Commissioner of Public Property and the Board of Commissioners. Section 2. That Subsection IV of Section Four (4) of said ordinance be, and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows, to -wit: SUB -SECTION IV. OFFICERS OF LIGHT PLANT. There shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners the following officers of the Light Plant: One Superintendent, at a salary of One Hundred and Twenty-five 0125.00) Dollars per month, and whose duty it shall be to superintend the management and operation of the Light Plant of the City of Paducah; to inspect all of the electrical wiring or work of any character placed in, on or around any building of the City of Paducah, and to perform the duties now required of the Electrical Inspector. One Engineer, at a salary of Twelve Hundred (41200.00) Dollars per year, payable in monthly installments, and who shall be the Engineer of the City Light Plant, and perform such duties as may be required of him by the Superintendent and the Commissioner of Public Property, from time to time. One Fireman, at a salary of Seven Hundred and Twenty (i?720.00) Dollars per year, and who shall be the Fireman of said Light Plait, and No.3'�— Ordinance No. -III perform such duties as may be required of him by the Superintendent and the Commissioner of Public Property, from time to time. [ One Lamp Trimmer, at a salary of Eight Hundred and Forty ('$'840.00) Dollars per year, who shall perform such duties as may be required of him by the Superintendent of said Light Plant and the Commissioner of Public Property. One Repair man, at a salary of Seven Hundred and Twenty (�720.00) dollars per year, and who shall perform such duties as may be assigned to him by the Superintendent of said Plant and the Commissioner of Public Property. The Commissioner of Public Property shall have the power to fig the hours during which the employees of said Light Plant shall be on duty, and make such rules and regulations in the management and government thereof as he may see fit, from time to time, and to prescribe the duties of each employee of said Department, and all of said employees shall be required to perform such duties as may be required by such Commissioner of Public Property or the Board of Commissioners. Section 3. That Subsection V of Section Four (4) of said ordinance be, and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows, to -wit: SUB -SECTION V. JANITOR. The Board of Commissioners shall appoint a Janitor for the City Hall and the Market House, and who shall be paid a salary of Six Hundred ($600.00) Dollars per year, in monthly installments, and who shall perform such duties as are required of him by the Commissioner of Public Property and the Board of Commissioners. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here- with, in so far as same conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. Section 5.
