Ordinance No. WHEREAS, on December 11th, 1916, the Board of Commissioners passed a motion condemning slot machines and all gambling devices, and notified operators of same to cease at once, now, therefore- • BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BO.&RD OF COI;II.ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUC,iH, KENTUCKY: Sec. 1. That all operators of gambling devices, slot machines, dice boxes, punch boards and contrivances of every character whereby money is won or lost upon the element of chance, or where any element of chance is involved whatsoever, be notified that warrants will be taken out for all operators having such gambling devices, or permitting any gambling whatsoever on their premises, on February 19th, 1917• and, Sec. 2. That notice be given all saloon keepers and operators of coffee houses in the city of Paducah that any one of said saloon keepers found to have such gaming device or granes of chance, slot machines, dice boxes, or any contrivance, or permitting any garbling whatsoever on their paid premises, wherein money is lost or wun thru the element of chance, that their licenses will be summarily suspended or revoked in pursuance of the ordinances of the City of Paducah heretofore passed; and, Sec. 3. That the Chief of Police is hereby unequivocally instructed to positively suppress all forms of gambling forthwith. Sec. 4. Be it further resolved that wide publicity be given this Resolution in the newspapers of the City of Paducah. Sec. 5. This Resolutmon shall take effect upon its passage.
