Section 1. That the special attention of said Hon, 011ie L;. James and
the Honorable alben 17. Barkley be called to the present existing conditions
surrounding the City of Paducah and her most prominent position, geograph-
ically and otherwise, and her excellent opportunity of being favored by
the Board of Location of the United States, provided the proper effort is
i made by her citizens and members in Congress in properly presenting the
excellent advantages Paducah has to the location of said plant.
Section 2. BE IT FuHTEER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of
the City of 2aducah, feeling at liberty to do so, does hereby call upon
and urgently request the said honorable 011ie I-. James and the said
Honorable Alben W. Barkley to use every honorable means within_ their power
l or authority in influencing and inducing the said Board of Location in
favoring Paducah in the final determination of the location of said irmor
Plant - - thanking them also for their valuable efforts in the past in
this behalf.
Section 3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the earnest and hearty
support of the people and public press of the First Congressional District
of Kentucky is hereby urgently requested in this behalf and they are hereby
requested to use their utmost influence upon said Iron. 011ie Is. James and
said Hon. Alben W. Barkley in urging the selection of Paducah for the
location of said armor Plant.
Section 4. RESOLVED bURTHER: That the persistent effort of the
Paducah Board of Trade in attempting to secure the location of said Plant
at Paducah be heartily approved and commended, and the stand taken by the
First District Press association, in its recent meeting, is hereby
applauded and approved.
Section 5. BE IT FURTLER I:ESOLVED: That the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Paducah stand ready and anxious to do everything in their
power in securing the location of said Plant at Paducah.
Section 6. The Press of Paducah is hereby heartily endorsed and
conmended upon the firm stand they have taken in this matter, and are
hereby requested to publish these Resolutions.
