HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 7, Page 248, Ordinance Number 86No. 2' i/ 9 Ordinance No. 94 Ali ORDINANCE ASSESSING THE ABUTTING PROPERTY ON BOTH SIDES OF TWENTY-FOURTH STREET BETV.EMi BROADWAY AND JEFFERSON STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, THE SUM OF SIXTY-SEVEN (67¢) CENTS PER FRONT FOOT. 96 VIHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky has heretofore, on the 11th day of September, 1916, adopted an ordinance entitled, "AI; ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ILIPROVEL'IENT OF TVE11 TY -FOURTH STREET FROM.'! THE NORTH SIDE OF BROAD17AY TO THE SOUTH SIDE OF JEFFERSON STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUC.LH, IO NTUCKY, BY GRADING AND GRAVELING SA.,E"; and, WHEREAS, in accordance with said ordinance it is provided that the cost of the construction of said street be paid for by the abutting property ovners on both sides thereof, except that portion to be paid by the City of Paducah, as required by law; and 17HEREAS, pursuant to said ordinance a contract was, on the 6th day df October, 1916, entered into by and between Harry Ross and the City of Paducah for the construction of said street; and, f WHEREAS, said contract has been completed in all respects, and the improvement therein provided for has been accepted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, on the 20th day of L:oveirber, 1916, pursuant to recommendation made therefor by the Com- missioner of Public Works of said City- now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0121ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: Sec. 1. That all the property on both sides of said street be, and the same is hereby assessed the sum of Sixty-seven (67V) cents per front foot for the cost of construction of said street by grading and graveling same. Sec. 2. That all the funds derived from the assessment of said property shall be used for the purpose of paying off the special tax bills issued against said property, pursuant to Section 3096 of the Kentucky Statutes, Sec.
