HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 7, Page 241, Ordinance Number 83'ORDIIIAI4CE NO. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE OPENING AND OPERATION OF K PRIV_TE CEMETERY IN THE CITY OF PADUC-H , KENTUCKY. VMEREAS, Charles Rieke and Eiabel R. Kidd have heretofore filed with the General Council of the city of Paducah, Kentucky a petition representing that they are the owners of certain tracts of land therein described, and being about thirty-three acres of land, located in the city of Paducah, Kentucky, and lying northwest beyond Oak Grove Cemetery, in said city, and that they be permitted to open and establish a private cemetery on said land, under such reasonable rules and regulations as may be required, or hereafter prescribed by said city; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COL IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF Pi,OUC�,h, KENTUCKY: Sec. 1. That permission be, and the same is hereby granted to Charles Rieke and J.Tabel R. Kidd, or their assignees, to establish a private cemetery on a tract of thirty-three acres of land lying on North Thirteenth street, in the city of Paducah, Kentucky, for the purpose of earth burials, and the erection, possibly, of mausoleums, subject to any and all reasonable rules and regulations that may be now or hereafter prescribed by the City of Paducah. Sec. 2. The privilege herein granted shall at all times be subject to any and every regulation required by the Board of Health of the City of Paducah, Kentucky. Seo. 3. The City of Paducah reserves the right at any time to prescribe such reasonable rules and regulations as are customarily pre- scribed by other cities for the conduct of private cemeteries, and to make and provide such regulations as may be necessary and proper in the interest of the health, welfare, or civic beauty of said city. Sec. 4. All rules and regulations that may be required by the owner, or owners, of said cemetery, in the conduct and operation of said cemetery, shall be uniform and subject to the rules and regulations pre- scribed by the City of Paducah. N..1 Ordinance No. Sec. 5. The City of Paducah further reserves the right of option as follows: that it may at any time within one year from and after April 1st,- 1917 buy this property from the owners at the price of X25,000.00, -1£ bought on or before April 1st, 1917, or at this sum plus taxes, interest at 6% and costs of any improvements at any time within one year thereafter.
