i�HEnE.>S, heretofore a contract has been let to Prosser & Hal -
lid,.;, of Cairo, Illinois, by the City of Paducah, for the reconstruction
of certain sidewalks embraced in the territory extending from the East
property line of Second street to the Hest property line of Ilinth
street, and from the north property line of L',onroo street to the South
property line of };ashington street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
as shown by ordinance passed on the 17th day of April, 1916, and
',HEREnS. in the bid made by said Prosser & Halliday, same
was based upon specifications furnished by the Commissioner of Public
Works, in vbioh crushed rock vias designated as material to be used and
F --ravel was not mentioned therein, and
i7HE.'r,_s, since said bid was made and contract .entered into
between said City and said Prosser & Halliday, it has core to the
knowledge of the Commissioners and said Contractors that gravel used as
a material instead of rock would be far cheaper to the property owners
along said street, and equally as good, if not better than crushed
stone- now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOnRD OF COLZUSSIOIJERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUC-11, =TUCKY:
Seo. 1. That the said Prosser & Halliday are hereby directed end
authorized to use gravel in place of said crushed rock, as called for
in said specifications, and they are to be allowed in the estimates a
lees amount in proportion to the difference in cost between gravel and
crushed rock.
Sec. 2. This Resolution shall tale effect and be in force from and
after its passage and record.
