HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 7, Page 193, Ordinance Number 64No._i �— Ordinance No._(� AN ORDINANCE AP;IENDING SUBSECTION THREE (3) OF SECTION ONE (1) ' OF All ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTi,IFINT OR RETENTION, BY THE BOARD OF 00131ISSIONERS, OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICERS, AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND FIXING THEIR SALARIES, POWERS AND DUTIES", PASSED BY THE BOARD OF COM,1ISSIOI1ERS JANUARY 4, 1915 AND RECORDED JANUARY 4, 1915. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COLMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: Sec. 1. That Subsection 3 of Section 1 of an Ordinance entitled, "!iN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTEEITT OR RETENTION, BY THE BOARD OF 001'ZIISSIONERS, OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICERS, AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH., =ITUCKY, AND FIXING THEIR SALARIES, POLYERS AIM DUTIES", passed by the Board of Commissioners January 4, 1915, and recorded January 4, 1915, be, and the same is hereby amended by striking therefrom the words and figures "Four Hundred (9"400.00) Dollars", and adding, in lieu thereof, the words and figures "Five Hundred (y500.00) Dollars- so that said Subsection of said Ordinance, when so amended, shall read as follows, to -wit: Subsection III. CITY PHYSICIAN- There shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners one City Physician and Assistant City Physician, both of whom shall be regular practicing physicians of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and who shall be paid, respectively, a salary of Eight Hundred (800.00) Dollars a year for the City Physician and a salary of Five Hundred (0500.00) Dollars a year for the Assistant Physician, payable in monthly installments. The Assistant Physician shall be a colored doctor, and it shall primarily be his duty to attend to the colored charity patiehts of the City, but who shall, in addition thereto, perform such other duties as may be required of him by the City Physician. The City Physician shall attend to, an d have supervision over, and give medical aid to, all indigent or pauper patients of the City of Paducah, and when called upon or directed by the head of his department, he shall perform such duties, from time to time, as may be required of hint in giving medical aid to, or attending to the paupers and charity patients of the City. Said City Physician and Assistant City Physician shall perform such other duties as may be required of them, respectively, from time to time, by the Board of Commissioners. He shall attend such meetings of the Hospital Board as he may be required to by said Board, and shall give such advice and aid to aid said Board and perform such duties in connection with the maintenance, No. _LL" i_ Ordinance No. management and operation of Rivdrside Hospital as required of him by said Hospital Board.
