Said work shall be c,nstructed under the direction of the board of public •:works and the sun;,; vision of the city ene;ineer , and shall be; commenced at a time designated by contract for the performa3,nce of said Mrlj and comple-red on or before september Ist,19I4. The contractor awarded the contract for the work h-erein provided for , shall be paid only from the funds ariseing fronthe special +,ax bills and i assessments against, the Property abutting the improvement herein provided fotp.and in Bio other wa,r; except that the said contractor may be paid out of the proceeds of such 4 bonds as may be issued in accordance with the laws of the city of Paducah,and for the r i 9)ayment,-PJ%',hich the tax bills and assessments of proerty abutting the herein � dhocribed improvement may be pledged by the said city of :Faducah; and, in no events shall the city ,of Paducah be liable to the contractor for the construction of any I of the proerty herein provided for, except, the said city of Paducah shall be liable', to the contractor for cost of construciion of all intersections of streets and publie� alleys, and for the excess of fifty -per cent (50�,0) of the value of any property asse ,sled for the improvement of the work herein provided for. I SEC. 6. The contractor awarded the contract herein shall be paid montI4 by improve ment warrants issued by the city of Paducah, upon estimates furnished by'. the city engineer, to the extent of 65dp.of the value of thr work clone by the contrats tor, during the progress of the v+ork, and said improvement warrants shall bear 6ep it1 terest from date of. issue, and shall be issued by the city treasurer, upon order oti the general council. said improvem ent warrants shall be negotiable and shall con,. stitute a lien on the local taxes to be hereafter levied upon the property abutting. said improvement, for such improvement, and shall be payable at the 'office of the city treasurer, without notice to the holder thereof, upon completion and acceptance of the vrork herein provided for, out of the first collection of uch local taxes, ott out of the proceeds of the sale of any improvement bonds issued in anticipation of the collection of such :local taxes. the interest on such improvement warrants shall. be estimated and assessed e.s a part, of the cost of the improvement herein provided for.
