OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF CITY ENGINEER, AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.10,- OF THE SAID REVISED ORD- INANCES, FIXING THE COMPENSATION, DEFINING ADDITIONAL DUTIES OF THE OFFICE, CHANGING THE BOND, AND DISPOSING OF THE RECEIPTS FOR PRIVATE WORK, EXECUTED BY THE CITY ENGINEER. I Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Paducah,• Ky,- BEC. -1. That section 2- of the above titled ordinance be, and the same Is hereby repealed. SEC=2- That in lieu of said section 2- that there be substituted the following, to -wits- r" The compensation of the City Engineer shall be $1200.00 , payable in equal monthlk installments, out of the City Treasury SEC -3- That the City Engineer shall not be permitted to do work outside of the City, exce* upon permission by the Common Council. SEC -4- That all perquisites accrueing to the office of City Engineer, by reason of work performed for private parties or citizens, in the City, sha- ll be collected by the City Engineer, at the rates now prescribed by ordin- ;2-. 7.7r. Rnce and the amounts shall be paid to the City Treasury, whose receipts therefore shall be filed by the said Engineer, with the City Clerk. The .,=unts thus collected shall be for the use and benefit of the City. -'-"SEC-b- That the amount of the City Engineer's bond fixed in section 3-, of ordinance No.10,- of the wrevised ordinances of the City of Paducah" be stricken out, and that in lieu thereof there shall be substituted by way of amendment" a covenant bond,- and in addition to such guarantee to the City, as is now defined by nrdlnance,- there shall be added the following, to -wit:- " And as a guarantee to the City against any lose or damage by reason of official errors, of any kind". Causing said section to read after amendment, as follows, to -wit:- The City Engineer, before acting as such, shall give a bond and security " in covenant, conditioned to faithfully perform the duties of his Office and to deliver to his successor, or to such person, as the Common Council may designate, all books, papers, maps, Instruments, plaf-s, drawings or other things pertaining to his office, and as a guarantee to the City of Paducah, against any loss or damage by reason of official errors of any kind. SM -e- That the City Engineer shall serve private parties desiring aurveye made promptly, but public or City work shall have precedence over private Work. SEC -7- That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provislons of this ordinance, are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflicting and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approv.. al.
