ORDINANCE DIRECTING THAT THE OFFICE OF CITY ASSESSOR BE MAD ONE UPON 1" FIXED SALARY, STATING THE AMOUNT OF SAME WITH DUTIES DEFINED, ADDITIONAL Be it oralned by the members of the Common Council of the City of Paducah. SECTION -1- That ordinance No.829,fixing the oompeneatlon of Assessor and section 8, 9, 11, and 12 of ordinance No.4, of the revised ordinances of e, and the same are hereby r the City of Paducah entitled °Assessor" be, ed. r ` _�� SECTION -2- That the salary of the City Assessor shall be $1000.00 per, annum Payable in monthly installments out of the City treasury. SECTION -3- That the City Assessor shall give his entire time to the duties Of the office of Assessor, that he shall engage in no other business, Which will interfCrewith his official duties to the City. In addition to the actual duties of his office he shall under the direction of the Mayor or the Common Council perform such other clerical duties for the City, as may be reasonable to require of him; provided such clerical work fdoes in no way interfere with his duties as Assessor*. a sZuTiUN-4- That where the Assessor omits a {! Year from his book, then upon the fact being discoverednhehshall yforfeeit P, the City for each and every separate lot or parcel $5.00, out of his salary for such failure on his part to perform his duty. SECTION -5- That in addition to the salary of $1000.00 an allowance of $100.,` Shall be made f0f deputy Assessor, at that period of the year when such aid to the Assessd!r becpmes necessary. SECTION -O.. The Oounoll shall have the power to grant to one or more ocmpanis or individuals the right to occupy and use the above named railways for (not exceeding the distance of 800 feet, providing the expence of laying and keeping the same in repair so far as is u3ed by the differant oompanoes or individuals shall be shared equally by all who make use thereof& MSEC --28-- The owners of said railways shall place and continue thereon good oars with moderan conveniances, and may charge not more than five cents for each passenger and half fare for children between five and twelve years of age, abd under five years of age free when acoompained by responsible atten � dantts, and the Council reserves the right upon given notice to the manager op owner thereof to regulato the fare, time, speed and number of trips pe r ' t. SEC 28 If the owner of said railways falls or refuses to comply to the a stipulations, regulations and requircmonts of this Ordinance, and such of i her Ordinances as the City Council may hereafter pass by virtue of the rl ghts herein reserved to it, then this franchise nay be declared null and void, and the tracts removed from the stroots at the cost of the ornors, but before such action is had, the City Council shall give twenty days no tioe to the owner, or superentendont of said railways of its intention to nullify this franchise at the regular meeting of said Council mimed in x said notice, v SEC— 29— It shall be the duty of the owner or owners of said railway to keepe the streets over Which same passes in good repair between the rails of said street railway, and for a distance of two feet on the outside of each of said rails.
