Officer to charge, a fee for any service pertaining to hts office whatever. Sec. 3. That the City Health Officer, in addition to cer- tain duties to be performed by him heretofore specified and fixed by former ordinances shall perform such other duties as the General Council may by ordinance prescribe. Mustobserve Sec. 4. That the Health Officer shall at all times - - all ordinances strictly observe all of the ordinances of the City of Padu- cah pertaining to the conduct of the office or to sanitation. Penaltt Sec. g. That for the violation of any of the provisions hereof, the said Health Officer shall be fined in any amount not less than $goo nor more than $to.00 for each offense. Scc. 6. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are 'hereby repealed, to the extent of such confliction, and this 6rdi- nance shall take effect from and after the election and qualification of the successor to the present incumbent. - Adopted by Board of Council April aSth, i9o4. An ordinance to protect the streets and side-walks of the City of Paducah, where same are to be opened for purpose of making connections with sewer, water, gas and steam heating pipes, or for any other purpose. Be it ordained by the General Council of the City of Pa- ducah, Ky.: 4 . REVISED ORDINANCES OF PADUCAH. Protection of Streets and Sidewalks. Section i. That any person, firm or corporation author- Permit ized to open the streets and side-walks of the City of Padu- required cah, shall before doing so receive a permit from the engin- eer's office as hereinafter Provided. Sec. 2. Every applicant shall first make known the loca- tion of the proposed opening and for what purpose, when thepurpose Locatlon and to be engineer shall furnish applicant with ticket showing the stated amount the applicant is required to deposit with the treas- urer. When applicant has paid to the treasurer the amount required, the treasurer's receipt shall be surrendered to the engineer who will grant the permit in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. Sec. 3. The following deposits shall be required per cubic yard excavation gravel streets, So cents; gravel alleys, So resulted required cents; cents; vitrified brick streets and alleys, $3.00; asphalt streets, $3.00; brick side-walks,$i.00; concrete or granitoid side-walks, $1.25. Sec. q. No deposit shall be returned until after 15 days from date of permit, and then only when the engineer has Whendepoeta to be returned satisfied himself than the street or side-walk has been replaced in good order and condition. If after 15 days applicant #tas not repaired or replaced the street or side-walk in good con- dition, the engineer shall have same done, and the cost to be deducted from the deposit and balance, if any, refunded as hereinafter provided. Sec. 5. The treasurer shall keep a separate fund to be known as repair deposit fund, to which all deposits shall be toberkeptuad credited, giving name of depositor, and each deposit made - shall have a separate number, and the number and name shall also be kept on stub of engineer's permit book. Sec. 6. Whenever the engineer gives his certificate showing that work under a certain name and number has requireedda been properly made, the treasurer shall return to the depos- itor the amount named in the certificate. l 490 REVISED ORDINANCES OF PADUCAIL .
