Ma o.; Office Hours and Salary owned by or in the rightful possession of the person from v-hom the tax is due, notwithstanding the existence of any lien3 upon the same, anti may proceed to sell for cash the title of such persons, to so much thereof as. will pay the taxes due, and costs of sale, a'ter first advertising the sale as Constables are required to do in sales tinder execution; the cost of such sale shall be two dollars ($2) for the benefit of the tax collector. He shall have the power to site out in any Justices Court in the County, an attachment on said tax bills, and the proceedings shall be the same as at- tachment proceedings for the collection of state taxes. He Dally rovnrts shall make daily reports to the Auditor, of collections, giv- ing him a duplicate receipt from the treasury for the collec- tions; and he shall make a settlement with the Auditor when- ever demanded. Sec. 2. The compensation to said delinquent tax col- lector in lector in addition to the fees mentioned in Sec. t of this ordi- nance, shall be ten per cent (to) commission on all taxes collected by him. Hand Sec. 3. The said t:u: collector shall execute bond for the faithful performance of his duties, in the sum of one thous- and do'lars, ($t,000) and this ordinance shall take effect after its passage and approval. Whereas; the salary for the office of mayor is now the same as it was some sixteen years in the past, and Whereas; the great growth of the city hat increased the demands upon the person who holds this office; and Whereas; the city will at an early day enter the second class at which time the duties of this office will be greater than at the present time, I r:. 1 ' REVISED ORDINANCES OF PADUCAH, _- —475 Mayor; Office Hours and Salary. Mayor, Salary. 1. I therefore, Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Paducah, Ky. Section i. That the mayor of the city of Paducah slia!I ateirutar keep regular office hours, and these are here defined as fol- ailed hourn lows to -wit: He shall he in his office for the transaction of the public business of the city daily, Sunday excepted, front nine o'clock in the morning unt-1 noon, and from one o'clock p. m. until four o'clock p. an. and he shall not engage in any other business or occupation whatsoever, and shall give the affairs of the city his entire time and attention.
