(lily wealcher $CCllt :n 1• The office of city weigher is hereby creitr- ed. The city weigher shall be elected b.7 the common council fit December in each year, :or the term of one year and until his sucressor is culy elected and qualified: Must keep an oroce Sec, 2. He shall h&ve and keep an Office convenient to the public scales and %,h: never called upon sbaR weigh any article and ;;ive to the aplaicant a true certificate of the weight. The city weigher shall keep a suittbl•! book in which be shall keep a record of each article weighed on the public scales, the date when weighed, the name of the - person having same weighed, the weight of such article and the amount of the fee charged for weighing Fame. This book shall be --ubiect to the inspection of any onz having any article weighed' on said scales, and also to any person authorized by the common council to inspect the same. The city weigher shall every three months report to the common council, under oath, an abstract from said bjnk showing ' the articles weighed on said scales during the three months next preceding such reprrt, the date when weighed, the • name of the owner of the ar'ticles' weighed, and the ires • charged by the city weigher. For lead, iron or other metals, over five tons and less than twenty, 15 cents per ton. For lead, iron or ether metals, over twenty tons to cents per ton. For hay, corn, fodder, oats, half ton or less 5c per draft. For hay, corn, fod other' metals, over twenty tons, to 3c each. For sugar in hogshead toc per hogshead. For sugar in barr:•Is or boxes Sc per barrel or box. For lard in kegs or barrels 2c each. Fe bacon or bulk meat iu casks 2c each. For bacon or other meat in bulk toc per ton. Wharf and Wharfmaster. City Weigher's Salary. An Ordinance fixing the Salary of the City Weigher of the City of Paducah. Be it Ordained by the General Council . of the City of Paducah, Ky. Section I. That the salary of the City Weigher of the City of Paducah, Ky., be and the same is hereby fixed at Seven Hundred and Twenty Lollars per annum, to be pail to said officer in equal monthly installments out of the treasury of the city of Paducah, as other salaries are paid, and this is to be in full pay for his services. Sec. 2. He shall give bond in the sum of five hundred dollars for the faithful performance of hi; duties according to law, but this section shall not apply to the present incum- bent,, he having already given bond as such officer. Sec. 3. All ordinances, and parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith, are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall take effect, from and after its passage and approval.
