Said clerk shall at the time of issuing such license furnish to the party obtaining same a me- talic plate, with a nun•ber plainly painted thereon corre- sponding with the registered number of such vehicle, and the owner of such vehicle stall, before using same, cause said metallic plate to be placed in a conspicious manner on the outside of such licensed vehicle, and shall -keep it there at 111 times when such vehicle is being used, under a penalty of $t for each day such yt hicle shall be used without such number. If any person shall place upon any vehicle required to be licensed under the ordinances tf the City of Paducah a spurious or counterfeit plate or number, or place such plate or plated number upon at.y vehicle without first having duly obtained license for sucl vehicle, he shall be fitted not less than $g nor more than Sts for each offense. A new series of•such numbered plates shall be issued by the council clerk on the first day of May in each year, and the plates used in one year shall not be used in another year. All owners of public hacks run in the city of Pnducah for profit or hire shall furnish the same with lamps or lanterns one on each side, which shall be kept constantly lighted when such vehicle is used after dark, in the absence of the moon, and on the out- side of such lamps shall be plainly printed its figures the num- ber of stick hack. corresponding with the license number thereof and any owner cf any licensed hack in the city of Paducah who shall fail to comply with this requirement shall be fined not less tlan $2 nor more than $to for each day he shall so fail to c•.mply. For carrying a passenger to any point in city, 25 cents. For each stop of five minutes, to cents; and for each stop longer than five minutes, 5 cents for each additional five minutes may be charged. When such vehicles are engaged by the hour they may charge and collect $2 for the first hour and $i for each ad- ditional hour. Between the hour of midnight and 5 o'clock a. m., double the foregoing raves may be charged. For attending a funeral, such vehicles may charge $2.50 and no more. It shall be unlawful for the owner, agent or Depot driver of a vehicle of any character run for the purpose of platforms carrying passengers to or from any railroad depot in the City of Paducah to go upon the platforms of such depots, or the passage -ways leading to such platforms, for the pur- pose of soliciting patronage for the owner or driver of any . vehicle. Where the load is from 3,000 to 4;000 pounds, the tires shall he three : chcs in width. Where the load is from 4,000 to 5,000 pounds, the tires shall be three and one-half inches in width. Where the load .is from 2,000 to 3,000 pounds, the tires shall be two and one -h L' inches in width. On two -horse drays, the width of the tires shall be four inches. An Ordinance Amending an Ordinance No. 48 of the Revised Ordinr.nces of the City of Paducah, Whereas: section 2, of the Revised Ordinance of the city of Paducah, is ambigious as to the construction of its provisions, and whereas: section 3, of the. same ordinance imposes penalties upon the owner of driver of licensed ve- hicles for overcharging the public, but fails to provide a penalty for persons using such lic. used vehicles and who refuse to pay the lawft:i and usual fee, therefore, Be it ordained by by the Common Council of the City of Paducah. Section r, Thar section two of ordinance No. 43, titled "Vehicles" be, and the s:.me is hereby amended by striking out of said section all after Che word coach, and inserting in lien thereof the following towit.."and any driver of such licensed hack or coach who shall permit any person to sit, or ride wirh him upon the driver's seat shall be fined $5.00 for each such offense" Causing said section to;read as amended as follows towit: "That it shall be unlawful for more than one driver or person to sic or ride upon the One driver driver's seat of any licensed hack cr coach, and any driver of such licensed hack or coach who shall permit any person. to sit or ride with hint upon the drivers seat shall be fined $5.00 for each such offense. The city weigher shall be elected by the common council fit December in each year, for the term of one year and until hii successor is euly elected and qualified: keep an Sec. 2. This book shall be rubioct to the inspection of any one having any articl: weighed' on said scales, and also to any person authorized by the common council to inspect the same. The city weigher shall every three months report to the common council, under oath, an abstract from said bank showing the articles weighed on said scales during the three months next preceding such repi-•rt, the date when weighed, the name of the owner of the articlei weighed, and the ices • charged by the city weigher.
