It shall be unlawful for any person to er;.ct pl.t, uK any frame or wooden building, or frame building filled in wtubilulnvl with stone, brick or other material, in that part of the city of Paducah lying between Clark street and Monroe street, and between the river and Fifth street: Provided,' however, that,privies may be built of wood; and provided further than any frame or wooden buiiding, tenement or shed, when designed and used as an outhouse, may be erected in said boundary if such buildings are covered with well -jointed metal roofs, and the frame sides of such building are secure - 1) covered with corrugated iron. Any person who shall erect any building in violation of Pensita tht; ordinance shall be fined not less than $g nor more than $too for every ten days such building shall remain on the ground in the above described boundary. Sec. 2. If any perscii desires to erect any kind of build- Building ing in said city he shall first make a written application a'rn'it therefor to the city engineer for permission to do so, stat- nquind ing the probable cost ci same and whether to be of wood, brick or stone, and the location thereof, that the engineer may give the correct lines and grades of such lot and thus avoid any encreachment on public streets, alleys or adjacent lots. Any person failing to comply with the requirements of this Section, and whr shall erect any such building with- out first obtaining such permit from said engineer, shall be fined $g per day for each day such building may remain on Pen,ly such premises. That Section one (t) of Ordinance No. ;,i of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Paducah relating to The Frame building permits, be amended so as to react as, follows: IMrs Ilmlta "It shall be unlawful for any person to erect any frame or wooden building or frame building filled in with stone, brick or other material, in that part of the City of Paducah be- tween Clark and Monroe • streets, and between the river -and Fifth street, excepting all of that block between First and Sec• IkeeW.Imis and street, between Monroe and Jefferson street, and also ex- cepting that part of the block between First and Second streets and between Broadway and Jefferson streets de- scribed as follows: Beginning at the south west corner of the intersection of Jefferson and First streets and running south on the west side of First street, at right angles a dis- tance of 208 feet and 9 inches, thence at right angles west a distance of 173 feet and 3 inches to Maiden Alley thence north at right angles a distance of Zoll feet and 3 inches to a corner of the intersection of Jefferson street and Maiden Alley, thence at right angles east t73 feet and 3 inches to heti ,aaw the, place of beginning. Provided, however, the privies may be built of wood; and provided further that any frame or wooden building, tenement or shed,•when designed or used as an out house, may be erected in such boundary if such buildings are covered with Well jointed metallic roofs, and the frame sides of such buildings are securely covered with the corrugated iron; and provided further that no frame building, either in part or in whole, shall be erected upon any of the boundary removed from the fire limits of the city 'by this ordinance, and referted to as an exception immed- . ialely following the words 'Fifth Street" unless covered with ' said metal roof; and with the sides securely covered with cor- rugated iron. remalil Any person who shall erect any building in violation of this ordinance shall be fined not less than $s.00 nor more than $too.00 for every 'ten days such building shall remain C11- C,^ Zrrnmd in the above described boundary. Section t. Houses on the Streets 'in the City of Padu- call Shall be Numbered as follows; viz, First—The- odd numbers shall apply to the north and now west side of the streets and the even numbers to the south numbered and east sides of the streets. Second—On all streets running in a northern and south--BeQtnaon ern direction the numbering shall commence with number Broadway too at Broadway and shall increase north and south, at the rate of too nun*ers for each block, as near as the ranging .series of streets will admit. Thus Broadway and all the street.: parallel therewith and their continuations east and west, shall be rectified lines of uniformity in numbering north and south. Third—On all streets running in a westerly direction the Beensat#A* numbering shall commence at the river, where the streets river extend to the river, or on the first street parallel to the river to which the numbered streets extends, and the num- bering shall increas going westwardly at the racy of too num- hers for each block, as the ranging series of streets will ad- mit. Thus all the streets parallel with the river, and their continuations northwardly and southwardly.shall he rectified lines of uniformity in numbering westwardly.
