Sec. 3. That all ordinances and parts thereof in con- flict with the provisions of this ordinance,—to the extent of such conflicting,—are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval. An Ordinance Creating the office of Live -Stock, Meat and Milk Inspector, for the City of Paducah,—Fixing His Compensation, Prescribing His Duties and His Eligibility, Manner of Election, term of Office, Together With Duties' Defined of Vendors or Sellers of blgats, Milk, Poultry, Game, Fowls and Fish for Consumption in the City of Paducnh, With Penalties Thereunder. Be it ordained by the ' Common Council of the City of Paducah, Ky. Section t. That the office of Live -Stock, Meat and Milk oatu Inspector for the city of Paducah be, and the same is here- cruuwd by created, and in addition to the eligibility required of offi- cers filling city offices by the , Statutes no person shall be eligible to fill the office herein preated unless he he agrad- uo liflem ow ante of a reputable and recognized college of hl rdiritte, or of Haul a veterinary college of good standing, together with a cer- tificate of competency signed by at least three reputable practicing physicians of. the City of Paducah. Sec. a. Duties of Sec. G. That in the inspection of live -stock for slaugh- Youug ter the Inspector shall not pass as approved any calf under the age of four weeks, and it shall be unlawful for any per- son to sell or offer for sole the meat of any calf which has not reached the age of four weeks before time of slaughter- ing. Sec. 13. Lite -Stock, Meat and 'Milk Inspector. of his duty to stop any milk wagon on any of the streets' of the City of Paducah, at any time, and procure therefrom a sufficient amount of milk to examine by any , method of analysis suggested by the Paducah Board of Health, and such examination shall always be made in conjunction with Dxaminattons N mllk the Health Officer of the city, and after such examination these officials shall inform the owner of the Dairy, from which the sample was taken, of their findings with regard thereto, and he given a notice of warning if the quality proves unwholesome, or commended if up to the standard of .purity, and in the event such an examination shall disclose circumstances with regard to the quality of milk so tested which will warrant the act, the said officials shall prosecute the offender tinder Section 1274of the Statutes. �ulmala Sec. t5. That Section t252, of the Statutes is hereby called to the attention of the Inspector, with regard to the sale of animals dying before being slaughtered, or from dis- eases, or the selling of diseased meats and the sale of one meat through deception as being the flesh of another animal and it is hereby made a part of his duty to enforce same. That the Inspector shall regularly test cream zeat,,,l dispensed at the Soda Fountains and Ice Cream Parlors of the City of Paducah, and he shall likewise investigate the sale of oleomargarine and Creamery butter, testing the lat- ter for adulterant, and rigidly enforce the National and State laws with regard to the items in this section. Sec. 17. That in all case of doubtful decision which may health arise in the investigations of the Inspector, the Health Offi- aselstr may cer shall be his adviser, and. these two officials shall act to- gether in all such cases; their joint decision being final.
