Council, shall cause to be levied a tax, sufficient to pay off
the interest on the said bonds as the same falls due, and
provide a fund sufficient to pay off said bonds when they
become due. r
Sec. 7. This ordinance shall take effebt, and be in force
from and after its passage, publication and approval.

Market House Bonds.
An Ordinance Authorizing and providing for the issual
of twenty five thousand dollars of bonds of the city of Pa-
ducah, Kentucky, for the Purpose of Erecting a Market
House in the Said City and Submitting the same to the
Voters of Paducah.
Be it ordained by the General Council of the City of
Paducah, Ky.

Section t. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, shall
issue bonds to the amount of twenty five thousand dollars
in denominations of five hundred dollars each ($Soo), bonds
to be payable at • the end of thirty years (30) said bonds
to be serially numbered from ,one (1) to fifty (So), inclusive,
and shall bear the seal of the City when isswed. Shall 'be, ,

issued under the signature of the Mayor; shall be counter "
signed by' the city treasurer; and shall bear interest at the
rate of 4 per cent per annum, payable semi-an-
nually, and shall have interest couponds attached thereto, Intureat

city treasurer. Said bonds shall not be sold for less than par
and the accrued interest, and the proceeds shall be used ex-
clusively for erecting a market -house, in the City of Padu-
call and for the further purpose of buying additional ground, I'urp w'
for extending the site and erecting a building thereon, or in
such a manner as the General Council may deem expedient.
Said bonds be made payable at some bank or trust com-
pany in the City of New York and shall be issued under
the authority granted the City of Paducah by section t57,
of the Constitution of the State of Kentucky and section
3097 of the Kentucky Statutes.
Sec. 2. The bond: above provided for, shall be issu-
ed only, upon the conditions,• hereinafter set •forth.

shall have been submitted to and voted affiirmatively upon
by two thirds of all the qualified voters of the City of Pa-
ducah, Kentucky, voting at an election hereinafter provided
for, and for the purpose of taking the sense of the qualified
votes of the City of Paducah, upon the question of issuing
said bonds, an election is hereby called to be held in Padu-
cah, Kentucky, on the regular election day in November 1903
being Tuesday November 3rd, and between the same.

The qualification of voters at the said election shall be

Charter Act of March [9th, t894, at said election all votes
cast shall be by secret t allot, for the purpose of determin-
ing the sense of the voters of this city upon this question;
there shall be certified to the Clerk of McCracken County,
by the Clerk of the City of Paducah the fact of the passage

of this ordinance, and all the questions to be voted upon,
and said Clerk of McCracken County.shall be requested and
required to have placed upon said ballots to be voted.at
the- regular election in November, at a specified place on said
ballot the following words—"For the issual of twenty five'
thousand dollars of bonds, by the City of Paducah; Ken -
lucky, for the purpose of erecting a market -house in said
city," and that there be left on the right side of said words -
two spaces above and below each other, the first—the up-
per space for voters favoring the issual of said bonds, which

shall be designed by the word "Yes". And the other or lower

designed by the word "No". And the voter shall designate
his vote by the cross [nark. These words submitting the
question herein before referred to the voters of the City of -
Paducah, to be printed on the official ballot furnished by
the Clerk of McCracken County for the regular election

in the City of Paducah, Kentucky.

Sec. 4. The said Clerk shall cause notice of the elec-
tion, herein called to be riven by publication of these ordi-
minces, in the official newspaper of said city for two weeks •
continuously next before the day of -holding the election
and said clerk 'shall port a printed copy of said ordinance,
in two public places in each of the voting precincts of the
Ci;y of Paducah, at loa;t ten days before the date of the said
election.

by law, subject to the conditions contained in this ordi-
nance; but, in case the rroposition to issue said bonds does
not receive the votes of two -third, (2-3) of the qualified
voters of the said city ci Paducah voting upon said propo-
sition, then this ordinance shall be null and void, and of
no effect.
Sec. 6. And it is hereby further ordained and agreed, Tax for

City of Paducah, Kentucky, from Court Street to Ken-
tucky Avenue.
Be it ordained by the general council of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky.
