such enclosure of the same, by fencing, latticing, or other
suitable means whereby such privy or privies shall be en-

any of ,the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined in any
amount not less than five (5) dollars, not more than ten
(to) dollars for each and every offense, and each day
such property owner or owners shall allow such Priv-

after the time mentioned, in section t, of this ordinance
shall constitute a separate and distinct offense and the pen -
,ally therefor shall be the same as hereinbefore stated in this
section.
` Sec. 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage and s:pproval.

Elected or Appointed by the Common Council of the City of
Paducah; and Employees of City Departments with Pen -

Loss of Time by Officers.
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Paducah, Ky.
Sec. r. That when any officer elected or appointed by Notice to bo i

ed thereby being unable to perform his official duties he
shall notify„ or cause to be notified, the mayor of the city
in writing of such disability and the cause thereof within

temporary vacancy by appointment at once. That salary Salary shalt
of such disabled person shall cease on the filling of the maw
vacancy by the mayor and the amount thereof shall be paid
to the person acting by said appointment. Provided, how-
ever, Ntat in the event the disabled officer or employee shall
have received the cause of his disability in the service of the
' city and in the direct discharge of duty, then the Common
Council shall have the power, by resolution, in their discre-
tion to continue the regular salary of such person or per-
son:,,
Sec. 2. That any time when any officer elected or ap- How vacatl4

a longer time than five hours or half a day he shall notify
the mayor of the city in writing, whose duty it shall be
to appoint a temporary substitute, and such substitute shall
receive the salary of the regular incumbent for the time serv-
er. Provided, however, that when in the judgment of the
mayor some other officer of the city who is already on sal-
ary can discharge the duties of the incumbent, who may be
absent from his work, as above, then the absent official or
employee's salary shall be deducted for the time lost and
same shall remain in the city treasury.
Sec. 3, That upon fbc failure of any officer of the city penalty

Sec. 4. That all dtdinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are, to the

extent of such confliction, hereby repealed and this ordi-
nance shall take effect from and after its passage and ap-
proval.

An Ordinance Authorizing and providing for the issual

ducah, Kentucky, for tl!e Propose of Erecting a City Hos-
pital in Said City and Submitting the same to the voters of

Be it ordained by the General Council of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky.

Sec. I. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky shall issue
