Penal Offenses and Punishments.
Section t. That it shall be unlawful for any person in Indeexpoent

any cellar, or any grating to any vault that is otherwise than
level with the pavement, and no door cellar way nor steps
leading into any cellar shall extend more than four feet
from the line of the adjoining lot.
It shall be unlawful for any person to permit his cellar Must Dot
door, cellar way or vault grating, on any street alley or stay open
sidewalk in said city to be left open at any time, or in such
condition as to endanger persons passing by. All cellars now callow
shall be kept dry,. well aired, free ;roan standing water and to be kept
offensive odors during the months of July, August and Sep-
tember, well sprinkled with lime or some disinfectant when

of Paducah shall be fined not less. than $t nor more than
$5 for each offense.

Sec. 5. It shall be unlawful for any traveling or itinei-
ant doctor to practice medicine in any of its branches, irk,
the city of Paducah or to open an office for such purpose,
or to announce to the public in any way his intention to
so practice. But nothing in this section shall be so constru-
ed as to prohibit any reputable phyiscian .from any other
place being called in consultation with any reputable ,phy-
sician of this city. Any person violating this section shall

Sec. 6. If any person shall ride, or drive any horse
mule or ox on any street in the city of Paducah, in any gait

when training or on parade, and the mayor and general
council may authorize the discharge of fire -arms or canton
in commemoration of any important event; and nothing
herein shall be construed to prohibit the discharge of fire-
arms by the peace officers of the city in the discharge of
their duty in order to protect life or property. Any per-

Paducah and hold conversation with any common prostitute,
or for any prostitute to visit or be found in any drinking Must not

to get up any dance or carousal for idle or dissolute per-
sons to attend or frequent the same, or for any person j
of the male sex to ride or drive on any of the streets, alleys
or otter public thoroughfares of said city in the night or day

male who gains her livelihood in whole or in part by the desned
promiscuous prostitution of her body shall be deemed a com-
mon prostitute. Any person who shall violate any provis-

Sec. 18. Hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person to Uo awful

Sec, 21. The blowing or sounding of whistles by any Blowing

river, within one-half mile of the public wharf, of the city
of Paducah, is hereby declared to be a public nuisance and
' prohibited; provided however, that nothing in this section Eseruylwu

• steamboat or water craft when meeting or passing each other
by blowing or sounding its whistle under any law of the
United States or the rules and regulations under such law

Sec. 24. No person shall erect any telegraph or tel-

ephone poles or other pole for like purposes in the city of
Paducah unless such pole be straight, cleanly and smooth.
No such pole shsll be braced or propped by guy poles or
other support, nor be si placed as to obstruct the passage
way from any building to a street or alley.

Set, 26. It shall be unlawful for any person to walk Loanu¢at

over, lounge or sit upon any bridge, trestle or incline of to+stl�s
any railroad or depot company in the city of Paducah, ex-
cept the employees of such company while in the actual dis i
charge of their duties.
If any person shall violate the provisions of this section
he shall be fined $5 for each such violation.
Regulating the Sale of Milk.
Be it Ordained by the General Council of the City of • t
Paducah, Kentucky.
Section I. That no pei son 'shall bring or send into the

uitiously, by the Meat and Milk Inspector to all applicants,
and to be renewed in the month of January of each year to
he valid.
Sec. 2. All milk wagons shall have the name of the

thereon plainly and legibly.
Sec. 3. No milk which is unwholesome or which has

been watered, adulterated, reduced or changed in any re-

fered for sale at any place in the city of Paducah, nor shall
any keep, have or offer for sale in the said city any such
milk except as providedfor in this ordinance.
