Vagrants. - i 1 Vagrants. - An Ordinance to Amend an Ordinance Entitled No. 42 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Paducah Relating to Vagrants. Be it ordained.by the Members of the Common Council of the .City of Paducah, Ky. IMNnitlonof Section t. That ordinance No. 42 of the Revised Or - vagranu dinances of the Cit of Paducah be amended so as to read Y as follows, "If any able bodied person be found loitering or rambling about in the City of Paducah. not having the means to support himself by some visible property, or does, not betake himself to labor or some honest and lawful call- ing to obtain- a livelihood, or who not possessing such visible means or who does not follow or labor at some law- ful trade or profession, -has quit his habitation leaving a wife or children without visible means of subsisten.:e, or who is idle and dissolute in habits, or an habitual drunkard, or is found loafing or idling about places of ill resort without risible means of livelihood or who ever shall be found loft= ering, loafing upon and frequenting the streets and public places at unusual hours of the night within the limits of the City of Paducah shall Le arrested end adjudged to be a vag- rant, and upon such conviction he shall be sentenced by the City Court to hard labor in the Chain gang upon the streets. alleys and wharf of the City of Paducah for the period of not less than one nor more than six months and when not ; so engaged to be confined in the City Lockup. Sec. s. All ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval, Adopted, Feb. 28, 180. W. H. PATTERSON, C: C. P.
