Soliciting Agents For Retail Stores.
An Ordinance for the Regulation of the Business of So-
liciting Agents for Retail Establishments and Other Bus- ,
iness.
Be it ordained by the members of the Common Council
of the City of Paducah.
Must Pmeure
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or per-

sons to be engaged in the business of being a soliciting
agent or agents for compensation for any retail store or
business within the limits of the City of Paducah, and to ply
the vocation of such soliciting agent in the said Ci'y o' Pad-
ucah, without first having obtained a license therefor in a
manner as provided by law as to other licenses; Provided
that this section sliall be construed to prevent or in any
manner hinder traveling salemen or agents for wholesale
hooses, or clerks of retail grocery stores and other rcta3
stores soliciting and filling orders at the private residences
within the City for any establishment or business for which
they work or are employed.

Sec. 2. Before any one shall engage in the said bus-

See. 3. For a violation of Sec. 1, of this ordinance the
offender will be subjected to a fine of not less than $5.-
oo nor more than $25.00 for each and every offense.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after
its passage and approval.
