Sec. 7. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance,— to the extent of
conflicting,—are hereby repealed and this ' ordinance shall
take effect from and after its passage and approval.

An ordinance amending ordinance No. tot7, entitled
An ordinance regulating obstructions on sidewalks on `
Broadway from First street to Seventh street as pertaining
to the placing of posts,poles and awnings, and signs with the
sizes and heights of same above the walks, and penalities
thereunder.
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Paducah.
Secgion i. That section . two of the above titled ordi- Post day be

ever, it shall be lawful for any person to erect in front of
his place of basiness an ornamental cast iron post nor less
in size than six inches at the bottom in diameter and four
inches in diameter at the top and ten feet in height on
which such person may erect a circular ornamental sign
to he painted in blackand gold colors and such signs shald
not exceed in diameterfive feet, and all such ornamental SlserWalased
cast iron posts shall be uniform in size and even in height
above the sidewalk on which it shall be erected.
Sec. 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance are, to the extent of confliction,

Signs Over Sidewalks.
An ordinance regulating the erection of signs across
and over any of the streets of the City of Paducah, and im-
posing penalties for violation of the same.

Section t. Thar it shall be unlawful for an y person or

persons to erect, or in any manner to al:ow any sign to be
suspended over any of the pavements of the City of Paducah'
so as to make or create any danger to persons passing up-
on and over the same, or in any manner, to have erected, or
to maintain any banging sign across and over any said

bottom to the top of said sign.
Penalties
Sec. 2. ' Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be fined not less than $5.00 nor more
than $2000 for each and every offense.
Sec. 3• This ordinance shall take effect from and after
its passage and approval.
