An Ordinance For the Protection of the Sewers and
Providing Penalty For Obstructions and Interference With
the Same:
Be it Ordained by the Mayor and Members of the Com-
mon Council of the City of Paducah:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or per-

sons not authorized so to do in any manner raise, remove
sets
or disturb any cover of any manhole, flush tank, valve cham-
ber or well connected with or appertaining to any sewer,
now in use, or now in process of construction, or to be here-
after constructed within the City; or in any way, whatever,
to interfere with or molest any valve, cock or other appli-
ances of any of the sewers or anything connected therewith.

WOVers to retard, arrest or obstruct the free flow of water in any of
the sewers of the City by placing or throwing therein any
dirt, gravel, rock, brick or parts of brick or other substance
or by any other means to prevent the free passage or flow
of any water in any such sewer or sewers.
Penalty Sec. 3. For every vio:ation of any of the,provisions of
this ordinance the offender shall be fined not less than $g

Sec. q, This ordinance shall take effect from and after
its passage and approval.

Time, Kind and Mannar of Making Gas, Water and Sewer
Connections Along Broadway From the West Side of Fier
S:rcet to the West Side of Fifth Strcet. Forbidding the Ex-,
cavation of the Street and Sidewalks for a Term of Years,
With Penalties. Also Defining. Requirements of the Padu-
cah Street Railway Co -many With Penalties.
Whereas, the City of Paducah anticipate% the recon-
struc-ion of Broadway at an early date, from the west side of
First.street to the west bide of Fifth street by putting in im-
proved street paving and modern side -walk's, and whereas.
after the said work is completed it, will be necessary that
said improved street and side -walk shall not be disturbed
by making excavations in either for placing in new connec-
tions for gas, water or sewerage, or for the repair of old
work.
