Plumbing Rules and Regulations. Sewerage Inspector.
Itmoftanks Art. 56. All water -closets shah not be supplied with
water.from special tank or cistern, which holds less than 9
gallons of water when up to the level of the overflow pipe
for each closet supplies. The flushing pipe of said tanks
shall not be of less size than r/ -inches inside diameter.
Iron latrines Art. 57. Where latrines are used for schools and other
public bildings, they shall be of iron, properly supplied with
water, and located in yard at least zo feet from building.
Licensed Art. 58. The city Engineer shall have the authority and

power, whenever in his opinion any plumber, or his assistant ,
is doing any plumbing or house draining, violates any of the
provisions of this ordinance�to suspend the license of said
plumber or assistant, and report same to Mayor and Com-
mon Council for final action.
Pipes exposed Art. 59. In all building the drain waste pipes and traps
must be exposed to view for ready inspection at all times,
and for convenience in repairing when necessarily placed
within partitions or in recesses they must be covered with
wood work and so fastened as to be readily removed, in no
case shall they be inaccessable.
Sewerage Inspector.
An ordinance creating the office of "Sewerage Inspector"
and providing the duties of said office defining compensation
and penalties.
Be it ordained by the members of the Common Council of
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky.

per annum, payable monthly out of the City Treasury. He
shall be elected by the Common Council at the first regular

said sewerage inspector to hold his office for the period of one Tarmof

is duly elected and qualified. The office herein created, shall
be subject to all limitations and restrictions found in the
charter pretaining to other offices so created by the Common
Council,
Sec. a. The duties of said officer shaU be to carefully in- Duties
spect all public and private sanitary sewerage as well as all deanod
public storm water sewerage now constructed or hereafter to
be constructed within the limits of the City of Paducah. He
shall have the supervision over and be the inspector of all
private .connections with the public sewerage.and he shall be
'required to see that all sewerage as herein referred to, shall
be laid and constructed in accordance with ordinances per-
taining thereto. He shall also be required to perform each
and all the duties that are imposed upon and required of the
City Engineer by means of an ordinance entitled "An ordin-
ance regulating the sanitary conection with the system of
seweragewithin the City of Paducah, and defining the rules
to cover plumbing thereunder," and shall be required to as-
sume all the responsibilities and be subject to the same penal-
ty therein defindd and referred to as a parr of the duties of
said City Engineer.
Sec. 3. He shall be, required .to give a bond of $t,Soo.00 Bond
made payable to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the reautrod
faithful performance and dischagre of all the duties of his
said office now and hereafter ,defined by ordinances. In the
event of the inability of said officer, by reason of sickness.
absence or otherwise to properly discharge any of the duties
of said office, the sewerage comittee shall have the right and %

hold such office during such inability, sickness or absence,
upon the same terms and conditions as said sewerage inspector

as that of said sewerage inspector and to be deducted from
the regular compensation of the sewerage inspector during
such disabilities. He shall be at all times, required to per-
form such other duties in connection with any of the sewer-

age of the city or other public affairs thereof as may be dir-
ected by the Common Council or Mayor.
Sec. q. For a failure to properly perform any of the
duties herein described or referred to by other ordinances eitti-�
cr through neglect or otherwise, he shall be fined npon con-
viction thereof, not less than $$.00 nor more than $to.00 for
each and every offense.
Sec. g. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict

with this ordinance is hereby repealed. This ordinance shall
take effect from and after its passage and approval.

Sewerage Inspector—Amendment.
An ordinance amending an ordinance nulled an ordin-
ance creating the office of sewerage inspector and providing
the duties of said office. Defining compensation and penal-
ties.
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Pa-
ducah, Kentucky.
Section r. That section 2 of an ordinance entitled an
ordinance creating the office of Sewerage Inspector and pro-
viding the duties of said officedefining compensation and pen- .
allies, be and the same is hereby repealed, and the following
is inserted and adopted in lieu thereof, viz:

so be required to perform such and all of the duties that are
imposed upon and required of the city Engineer by reason of
an ordinance entitled an an ordinance regulating the sanitary
connection with the system of sewerage within the City of Pa-
ducah, and defining the rules to govern plumbing thereunder,
and he shall be. -required to assume all the reyponsibilites
and be subject to the same penalties thereunder, defined and
referred to as a part of the duties of the City Engineer.
He shall also be required to perform tinder the directions
of the city Engineer any other duties in connection with tlic'
sewer work which may be ordered by the Mayor of the City
of Paducah.
Sec. 2. That all �oriinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provis'ons of this ordinance are hereby re-
pealed and this. ordinance shall take effect from its passage
and approval.

An Ordinance Relating to the Sewerage of Any Natural
Drain and Prescribing Penalty for Obstruction of the Same.
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Paducah:
