Postal Telegraph Company Right -of -Way.
An Ordinance granting the Right -of -Way to The Postal
Telegraph Cable Comp,ry Along Certain Streets on Which
to Erect Suitable Poles and Wires.
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Paducah.
Section 1. That thtre is hereby granted to the Postal
Cable Telegraph Complry the right-of-way and the right to
erect the usual suitable poles for the purpose of wiring and
operating a telegraph line from the C. O. & S. W Railroad
passenger depot in the alley between Sixth and Seventh
streets, thence on Second street to Market Square, said com-
pany to pay the same rate of taxation and be subject to the
same regulations as other Telegraph Companies in Paducah
and this ordinance to tike effect from its passage and ap-
proval.

An Ordinance to Amend an Ordinance Entitled "An Or-
dinance Granting the Riehr-of-Way to The Postal Telegraph
Company Along Certain Streets on Which to Erect Suitable
Poles and Wires," Approved Aug. .7, 1896•
Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Paducah,
Section 1. That the above entitled ordinance be and the
same is hereby so amended as to grant to said Company
the right-of-way from Monroe street up Fourth street to
Broadway street so as t•) have its office in the vicinity of
Fourth and Broadway streets, and this additional right-of-
way if accepted is to be in line of so much of the,right-of-
way granted in the orig'nal ordinance as proceeds from the '
crossing of Monroe ani Fourth sL-eets down Monroe street '
to Second street, thenc.- on Sec9nd street to Market Square,
Etc., that the right to erect the necessary poles upon said

new route is hercbv granted but no more than shall be neces-
sary, all subject to the, same tax and regulations of the Coun-
cil as other Telegr-tph Companies i„ Paducah. And this or.

s a•, roa company, its successors and assigns, the
right to' construct and maintain a railroad track or switch
across Washington street just east of Maiden Alley, entering
the private property of the Paducah Mill and Elevator com-
pany.
Be it ordained by the General Council of the City of Pa-
ducah, Kentucky.
Section t. That the Chicago, St. Louis and New Orleans
Railroad company, its successors and assigns, is hereby
granted the right to construct and maintain a railroad track
across Washington street at the intersection of Maiden Al-
ley and Washington street upon the east slide of said Maiddn Al-
ley, approaching and running into the private property of the
Paducah Mill and Elevator company at the rear end of its
warehouse on said Maiden Alley. A blue print showing the
right-ol way herein granted of said railroad track is filed here-
with, referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Sec. 2. Said track shall be of standard gauge, and conform'
to the grade of the streets (so far as practicable) and where
it is necessary for the purpose of drainage; proper' culverts'
are to be erected and maintained at the cost of the said°
Chicago, St. Louis and New Qrleans Railroad company, for
the free flow and passage of water and said track is to.be
kept and maintained in gt id ' condition and repair by said '
railroad company.
