C. Be it further ordained, that perzans refusing to pay
th a taxes levied shall b: proceeded against as in similar cases
where they fail or refuse to pay railroad taxes as now pro-
vided 'oy law.
q. Be it further enacted that before this ordinance shall go
into ^beet, it shall be submitted on Thursday, the 4th day of
November, 1858, to the popular vote of the qualified voters
of .aid city, qualified to vote for mayor and councilmen, and
saie vote shall be taken at the appointed voting places in
the different wards; and if, in such vote, a majority of the
votes cast shall be in favor of this ordinance, then the
same shall go into effect.
S. If, on such vote, a majority of the votes cast steal: be
ag,mst this ordina-ice titn the same shall be null and of
no effect, and if this ordinance shall be a-lopted as aforesaid
by the popular vote, the mayor shall cause the provisions of
the same as to the issue of said bonds to be forthwith
carried into effect.
g. Be it hvther crdained that the mayor and council
shall appoint ;udges and other officers for holding tae elec
tie t on this ordinance on said fourth of Novemhe-, 1858, at
the aforesaid voting places in said city; and the judges and
clerks at the different voting places shall return the poll
boors to rhe clerk of the city on the day next after said vot-
ing. This ordinance shall be published 'n the tri -weekly
Herald up to thr day of voting, and said officers holding the
election shall he sworn as on other cases of *)Lit g in said
city.

Paducah Iron Company.
Be itordained by the mayor and tLe common council
of the city of Paducah, Ky.:

That there is gr anted to the. Paducah and Gulit -Rail-
road company the right of way to build, construct and use un--
der the charter of said company a .railroad across Broadway
street, Cortest streee, Clay street and Trimble street, and
thence down what is known as the reserve ground in Flour•
noy, Harris & Norton's adddtion to Paducah. thence to the
depct grounds, purchased of the Uni0d States, thence up
the river :,nd up Xtarkrt street to Jefferson street, and the
right of way for rhe buiiding and the running of said rail•
roaa is granted onto said company, across any public street
that is now or may heteaft?r be established to Paducah,
which crosses or may hereafter cross tdt+ line of said desig-
nated route of said road.
a. It shall be the duty of said Paducah & Gulf Railroad
company to keep the ctossires 41 good repair, also the streets
up and down which rhey may ran their tracks, at their own
rApenae, and for a failure to do this th•. said company shall

company or its assigns the right of way to construct and op-
