Mayor Wilson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for June 13 and 20, 1967 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be i l il approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, i Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (5). Various personnel) Commissioner Johnston offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg, that changes in Parks ;r' & Recreation on recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: Joe Torian 1. James E. Collins be employed as a temporary laborer in the Parks & Recreation Public Works Department, retroactive to June 16, 1967, at a salary of $1.75 per hour. Paul Roberts 2. The following laborers in the Parks & Recreation Department be promoted to truck reassigned drivers in said Department, retroactive to June 16, 1967, at a salary of $1.98 per hr. Public Works Randal Payne Paul White -Refuse, James Riley terminated 3. The resignation of James Metcalf, as playground leader in the Parks & Recreation Department, be accepted. 4. Marty Keleman be employed in the Parks & Recreation Department as Playground Leader, retroactive to June 19, 1967, at a salary of $1.10 per hour. i I 5. Carl Fike, foreman in the Parks, Recreation & Cemetery Department, be reassigned, .I at his request, as a maintenance man in said Department, at a salary of $2.23 per hour, effective July 1, 1967. 6. Joe Torian be employed as a temporary laborer in the Public Works Department, at a salary of $1.75 per hour, retroactive to June 1, 1967 7. Paul Roberts, foreman in the Public Works Department, be reassigned as concrete �I finisher, at a salary of $2.53 per hour, effective June 27, 1967. 8. Paul White, laborer in the Refuse Division, be terminated, effective June 21, 1967. I 9. The following temporary employees in the Parks & Recreation Department be terminated: ;j Barney G. Wooten the letter from Gene Wooten, President of the Professional Firefighters of Paducah, Kentucky, to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, be received and filed. Commissioner Kressenberg offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Johnston that the following bids for sale to the City of its requirements of tires be received and filed: Firestone Store Dealers Tire & Supply, Inc. Commissioner Kressenberg offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Johnston as follows: I move that the City Manager be instructed to tender a final offer of $200.00 to Irene Metzger, a widow, Louise Metzger Wahl and her husband, Charles A. WahlI Charles Metzger and his wife, Shirley Metzger, Thomas E. Metzger and his wife, Marilyn Metzger and Ellen Metzger Hodges and her husband, Earl Hodges, for the purchase of a permanent and construction easement for a sewer line across their property on or near the Old Mayfield Road at or near its intersection with South 21st Street and the Beltline j Highway, and that if the offer is not accepted on or before 5 o'clock P.M. July 11, 1967, i i the Corporation Counsel be instructed to institute eminent domain proceedings to acquire I the easements. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioner Johnston, Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, that B. D. sills, who was appointed Acting City Treasurer on February 16, 1967, be relieved of his additional duties as Acting City Treasurer and all duties associated therewith, to be effective on July 1, 1967.
