Kolb Bros & Water Works-fil, Transfer funds parking lot to z Street salaries At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 11, 1969, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry, (4), Commissioner Harvey was absent. Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the reading of the Minutes for October 14 and 27, 1969 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Members Lambert,MCNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the liability insurance policy issued by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company to the City of Paducah covering work done by Seth E. Giem Associated, for a period of one from November 7, 1969, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the deed of conveyance from Roy J. Patter and wife, Helen E. Patter, to the City of Paducah, dated September 29, 1969, and recorded in Deed Book 514, page 169, in the McCracken County Court Clerk's office, conveying land for use in the extension of 9th Street, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the Memorandum of Agreement between Kolb Brothers Drug Company, Inc. and Paducah Water Works be received, approved and filed, and I further move that the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah agrees to cooperate with the Paducah Water Works in any way lawfully required to accomplish the objectives as set forth in the Memorandum Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear as follows WHEREAS the City of Paducah has heretofore paved a portion of its Municipal Parking Lot at the corner of 4th and Kentucky Avenue, and WHEREAS said paving was accomplished by the Public Works Department at a labor cost of $2,103.97, including $1,759.32 in direct salaries and $344.65 in fringe benefits as calculated by the City Manager, NOW THEREFORE, I move that the sum of $2,103.97 be transferred from the Parking Lot Acquisition and Construction Account to Account No. 3400, Street Department salaries. Sell grave i Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the Rushing Add. Sledd Funeral Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Sledd Funeral Home Home of the Northeast corner of Lot No. 321 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Sell graves Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the Oak Grove I Emma Whitesiia Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mrs. Emma L. Whiteside of the southeast quarter of Lot No. 17 in Section 4 of the Mausoleum Additio', to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $350.00, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery property. Employ Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the followin Cledis Settle St. Division �i/ personnel changes be made: PeggyBlack 1. Cledis Settle be employed in the Street Division of the Public Works Assessor's `� Department as a concrete finisher, at a salary of $2.73 per hour office retroactive to November 11, 1969. W.D.Keeling r 2. Willie D. Keeling, Jr., an Applicant -Candidate in the Fire Department, Fireman has satisfactorily completed the 60 day training period as such Applicant -Candidate as provided by ordinance, he is hereby appointed a fireman in the Fire Department, at a salary of $445.00 per month, retroact to November 1, 1969. 3. Peggy Black, temporary secretary in the Public Works Department, be transferred to the Assessor's office as a Clerk -typist, at a salary of $285.00 per month, retroactive to November 3, 1969, at 1:00 p.m. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Settlement Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the reports Sewer and Refuse ! of the Paducah Water Works for the month of October, 1969, be received and filed. Bond Cooper M Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the Plumbing and� Heating i Bond of Elvin L. Cooper d/b/a Cooper Plumbing and Heating, in the amount of $1,000.00, + dated October 30, 1969, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Request bids Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that a Uniforms for Refuse Divis on resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS I I FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH UNIFORMS FOR THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryee II and Mayor Cherry (4). I • l E 10 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah November 11, 1969 ' Request bids Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a' Petroleum IX Products resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENTS OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTIFREEZE TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JANUARY 1, 1970 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1970," be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Amend Urban Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a Beautification Application resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO FILE AN AMENDMENT TO AN APPLICATION FOR AN URBAN BEAUTIFICATION AND IMPROVEMENT GRANT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, WHICH APPLICATION WAS ORIGINALLY AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTI DATED MARCH 25, 1969", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Schuette & Taylc,r Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that an Audit for 1969 V fff��� ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF SCHUETTE & TAYLOR, CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, TO MAKE AN AUDIT OF THE ACCOUNTS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND ALL CITY OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR 1969 IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PAYMENT TO THEM OF THE SUM OF $4,000.00", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passac Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Na 382 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners Cityof Paducah_._ November 11, 1969 IIncrease License Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLASSIFYING AND LICENSING OF VEHICLES PLYING THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE' WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 30, 1937, AND LAST AMENDED ON MARCH 7, 1967", be adopted.
