HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 26, Page 14, February 7, 1967No. 1G IProceedings of Hoard of Commissioners _ CitycfPaducah February 7 196 At a Recular T:eetinp of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber or the City Hall, Paducah, Kentuckv, at 7:30 F.M. on February 7, 1967, Mayor Tilson presided and upon call of the Roll the followinr answered to their names: Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberr, Panton, Puryear and iiavor 'rlilson (5) Mayor Wilson offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Eressenberg, that the readinc of the Minutes for Januar,, 31, 1967 be waived and that the minutes of said meeting prepared by the city Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberr, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Fire Dept Commissioner Johnston offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg promotions L Cope to as follo.rs: Upon the recommendation of the City Manaper, I move that the following Captain personnel chances be made: J. I.eT:eave t Engineer 1. Lester Cope, engineer in the Fire Department, be promoted to Captain Fatty,, Sarrer in said Department, effective February 16, 1967. Finance Dept 2. James LeNeave, fireman in the Fire Department, be promoted to Parks E- Rec. Enpineer in said Department, effective February 16, 1967. Bertha Sande— 3. Mrs. Patty Sargent be employed as temporary clerk in the Finance son watts office, effective February 7, 1967, at a salary of $225.00 per month. Frances 4. Mrs. bertha Sanderson Watts be employed as Tap & Pallet Instructor Sanderson in the Parks &. Recreation Department, retroactive to February 1, 196?, Resignation at a salary of $5.00 per session. 5. The resignation of Mrs. Frances Sanderson, Tap &. ballet Instructor in the Parks and Recreation Department, be accepted. File Lease Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, TOC Marine Service that the executed copy of the Lease, dated January 11, 1967, between the City of Bank of Tennessee Paducah and TOC Marine Service, Inc., to certain property bordering on the bank of River the Tennessee River, be recei,,ed and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberr, Paxton, Purvear and Mayor 'Nilson (5). Reauest bids Commissioner KressenberF offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Johnston„ Concrete that a Resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY T•'.ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY '.WITH READY MIX AND/OR TRANSIT MIX CONCRETE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberr, Paxton, Puryear and 17avor 'Jilson (5). Contract Commissioner Paxton offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Furvear, tha :Test 1:cCrac n County :urate an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERF TO EXECUTE A District CONTRACT FOR SWAYER SERVICE, ?ET.WEEtd -,TEST 1`.cCRACY.ETI COUNTY :TAPER DISTF,ZCT AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners i Johnston, Y,ressenberfr, Paxton, Furyear and mavor Jilson (5). Suspend Rul / Commissioner Johnston offered the followinr motion: I move that the oe Comnissi v rules of this Commission be suspended for the purpose of the introduction of a resolution listinc the purchase Fids received for 82,500,000.00 "CT -TY OF FADUCAH Voted Sewer bonds", and other matters in connection therewith," which was seconded i^r Commissioner Kressenber, and was adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Conissioners Johnston, F.ressenherr, Paxton, Fur -.,ear and 'avor Wilson (5). No negative vote. I Proceedingsol Board ofCommissioners —City ofPaduca6 FFbruary 7 1967 ---__- —I II -- Accept bid V Halsey, Stuart Es Co. sewer bond issue $2,500,000 Commissioner Kressenberg caused to be read aloud the following resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION LISTING THE PURCHASE BIDS RECEIVED FOR $2,500,000 'CITY OF PADUCAH VOTED SEWER BONDS'; ACCEPTING THE BEST BID; AND ESTABLISHING THE I?:TEREST COUPON RATES WHICH SHALL AE APPLICABLE THERETO", and thereupon moved that said resolution be adopted: Such motion was seconded by Commissioner Johnston and was adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberr, Paxton, Puryear and Eayor Wilson (5).
