(: Mayor Wilson offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg, that the reading of the Minutes for October 10, 1967 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (5). /i Riverport 11 Mayor Wilson made the following appointments: Pursuant to Section 2 of an Authority Com. Appoint ordinance creating and establishing the Paducah -McCracken County Riverport Authority J.S,Piers Gresham Hougland and providing for the appointment of members thereof and delegating powers thereto Jerry Page ,I I hereby appoint the following individuals for the following terms: J. S. Piers for a term of two years Gresham Hougland for a term of three years Jerry Page for a term of four years All appointments herein shall expire on the anniversary date of the ordinance creating the Authority, which date is September 26. ! Petition - Dust Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton that the Alley btw 25th - 26th, Broadway letter from W. G. Schneider, dated October 9, 1967, together with a petition signed byi & JF.Fferson i residents of the 2500 block on Jefferson Street, regarding the dust problem in the I i alley between Broadway and Jefferson Street and 25th and 26th Streets, be received and filed. Employ - Parks Commissioner Johnston offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg that Jimmy Peck '' '� Robert Farmer upon recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made: Mike Clark Monte Peck ✓ 1. The following persons be employed as Recreation Specialists "C" in the Parks & John R. Leeper'!'i Recreation Department, effective November 1, 1967, at a salary of $12.00 per half Bill Shelton - day: Mrs. Joyce Hodge -- terminated Jimmy Peck Resignation -Parks Robert Farmer Thos. E Forrester `"� Mike Clark Monte Peck Civil Service Joseph Hayden 2. The following persons be employed as Recreation Specialists "E" in the Parks & Floodwall & Recreation Department, effective November 1, 1967, at a salary of $1.60 per hour: Uimmie L Riley Parks John R. Leeper Bill Shelton 1 i 3. The resignation of Thomas E. Forrester, truck driver in the Parks & Recreation Department, be accepted, effective October 20, 1967 I 4. Mrs. Joyce Hodge, temporary employee in the Parks & Recreation Department be terminated, effective October 16, 1967. 5. Having completed their six (6) months probationary period the following persons be �I placed under civil service, effective November 1, 1967: Joseph L. Hayden as maintenance operator in the Floodwall Department iiJimmie L. Riley as truck driver in the Parks & Recreation Department. Liability In Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, that Walker Boat Yard, Inc I the Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Walker Boat Yard, Inc. and the City of Paducah for a period of one year from October 15, 1967, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (5). Rezone East Commissioner Johnston offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg side of Husbands Rd that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION RESPECTING THE REZONING OF PROPERTY ON THE WEST SIDE OF HUSBANDS ROAD, SOUTH OF BRIDGE STREET, AND AMENDING THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE -1961 SO AS TO EFFECT SUCH REZONING", be adopted. Accept bid Commissioner Kressenberg offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Johnston Allan Rhodes'I 9 police cars that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCPETING THE BID OF ALLAN RHODES, INC. FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF NINE (9) 1968 FORD CUSTOM FOUR -DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND 1 CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call 1 of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (5). j ICommunity ' Shelter Plan Community Shelter P Commissioner Kressenberg offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Johnston that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY AND HELM ROBERTS, ARCHITECT - PLANNER OF LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY, PROVIDING FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A COMMUNITY SHELTER PLAN be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (5). Commissioner Paxton offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, PROVIDING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMMUNITY SHELTER PLAN, AND ESTABLISHING 115 I Proceed7n s of Board of Commissioners October 24 1967 — I 9 City of Paducah _ . 1 A COMMUNITY SHELTER PLAN TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND A POLICY ADVISORY COMMITTEE" be adopted. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF PADUCAH LAUNDRY & CLEANERS, FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH UNIFORMS FOR THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT", be adopted. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILSON CHEVROLET-CADILLAC, INC. FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) NEW 1968 CHEVROLET PANEL TRUCK, MODEL CE.Luvu, FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted.
