City of Paducah .August 21, 1963 _ At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:30 P.M. on August 27, 1963, ?Mayor Cherry pre- sided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Cholson, Hornsby and Mayor Cherry (3), Members Fendley and Karnes being absent (2). I!avor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called r!eeting to be held at 5:30 P.M. on August 27, 1963, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gh6lson, Hornsby and Mayor Cherry (3) Commissioner Gholson offered motion as follows: Upon recommendation of Ray Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that the services of d. L. Noles, a laborer in the Street Division of the City of Paducah, be terminated as of August 20, 1963. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Hornsby, and Mayor Cherry (3). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the reports of the Paducah Idater Viorks be received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the proper accounts: Refuse collections for July 1963 $9,847.90 Sewer Service Charges for July 1963 10,032.55 Bad Refuse accounts collected during July 8.00 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Hornsby and Mayor Cherry (3) Commissioner Gholson offered motion that Jewel Elrod, an employee of the blaintenar Department, be transferred to the Sewage Treatment Plant as an operator, effective August 16, 1963 at a salary of $;290.00 per month. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Hornsby and Mayor Cherry (3). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company to Reliable Advertising Company, covering advertising^ benches placed on the sidewalks in the City of Paducah, .for a period of one year from July 11, 1963, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Teas, Commissioners Gholson, Hornsby and Mayor Cherry (3). Commissioner Hornsby offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray Kay e, Director of Public 1yorks, I move that the services of Terry M..00re, a laborer in the Street Division of the City of Paducah, be terminated as of August 23, 1963. PAXTON, AND JOHN H. SHADLE AND WIFE, KATHERINE S, SHADLE, LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS", be adopted. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF THE DEPARTffENT OF HIGHWAYS, ALL THE INTEREST OF THE CITY IN CERTAIN PROPERTY NEEDED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF A PUBLIC HIGHWAY [•WITHIN THE CITY", be adopted.
