HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 25, Page 46, June 11, 1963Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah June 11, 1963 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe ofthe City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 F.M. on June 11, 1963, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Gholson, I Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Fendley being absent (1). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for May 14, May 24, May 26 and May 31, 1963 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners N/Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4).' Water Cornec-iV Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the petition of John Draffen and his tion - Draffen Schneidman Rd'' wife, Ellen Draffen, for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the existing 1i privately owned water pipe line located on Schneidman Road for the purpose of furnishing water to one residence only now on property they own and fronting on Schneidman Road in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed, and that the permission petitioned for therein be eranted, subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4). LaVerne Becken- Commissioner Gholson offered motion that LaVerne Beckenbaugh, a Clerk -typist No. '`.auF e orcmoted Senior Clerks' 1 in the Finance Office under civil service, be promoted to the position of Senior Clerk in said office under civil service, at a base salary of $260.00 per month, retroactive to June 1, 1963. Commissioner Cholson offered the followine motion: I move that the Board of Grove to C.R.Greesron,4 Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to C. R. Greeston, S. of a portion Sr 1 of Lot No. 422 in Section 29 of Oak Grove Cemetery, being 12 x 16 feet located at the northeast corner of said lot, for the sum of $180.00 I further move that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said property. I therefore move that th • application of Wiley and Lackey, be accepted and approved, and that the Commissioners of Paducah Water Works be authorized to execute the agreement for laying of said extension, and that the Commissioners of Paducah Water Works be authorized to install a 6 inch Ovate main beginning at the existing main at Miller Drive and Old Orchard Road, and extending along Miller Drive approximately 494 feet, including street intersections. I further move that the adoption of this motion and the granting of the request jcontained in said application be considered as agreement on the part of the City of Paducah to pay the fire hydrant and water main rental, as provided in the franchise, on the Nater Main referred to in this motion, said rental to begin when said water main is laid and water provided.
