HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 25, Page 444, September 20, 1966Proceedings./ Aoard of Commissioners City of Paducah September 20, 1966 __ At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber i of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on September 20, 1966, Mayor Wilson i presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner Johnston, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (4), Commissioner Kressenberg being absent. j Mayor Wilson offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Johnston, that the reading, i of the Minutes for September 13, 1966 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (4). Appoint Board of, mayor Wilson made the following appointment: Subject to the approval of the Adjustment �! Commissioner Johnston offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, that on H.H.Osborne of Commissioners, I herebv appoint the following persons as members of the Paducah Firs. Frank Yancy' the recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made: Rev. H. Joseph of Adjustment for the following terms: Franklin 1. The employment of Neil Harned as part-time Housing Code Inspector Charles Riemann H. H. Osborne for a term expiring August 31, 1967 Julian B. McFarland, Jr i Mrs. Frank Yancy for a term expiring August 31, 1968 _ Parks s, Rec Rev. H. Joseph Franklin for a term expiring August 31, 1969 Charles Riemann for a term expiring August 31, 1970 James Futrell Julian B. The resignation of Weslev Ford, laborer in the Parks and Recreation Department, he accepted, effective September 16, 1966. 4. No._ _ .,4 Proceed;ngs of Foci o_f_ Commissioners Settle City of Paducah September 20, 1966 USF & G c aims, Commissioner Paxton offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear as follows: ti I move that the claims of United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company for reimbursement of certain amounts paid by it to settle certain claims against the City be allowed, and that the City Treasurer pay said claims to said Company after securing_ a full and co release. Said claims being as follows: Accept offer :j Mrs. Parker Bray dedicate' 10' widen 40th St. Accept offer Citizens Bank (Margaret T. Arts Estate) dedicate 10' widen 20th St 1. Claim of Midtown Parking lot, 5th & Jefferson Street for damage to its building by a city truck, on.or about May 24, 1966, in the amount of $58.63. 2. Claim of Louis Mac Morric for damage to his motor vehicle by a city vehicle near 9th & Clay Streets, on or about August 3, 1966, in the amount of $100.00. 3. Claim of Walter Thomas Flatt for damage to his motor vehicle by a city vehicle near 10th & Kentucky Avenue, on or about August 17, 1966, in the amount of $290.00 4. Claim of Parker's Car Lot (used), South 6th Street, for damage to a car stop by a city vehicle on or about August 23, 1966, in the amount of $7.50 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (4). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, as follows I move that this Board receive and file copy of a motion adopted by the Paducah Planning Commission on August 29, 1966, recommending acceptance of the offer:of Mrs. Parker M. Bray to dedicate a 10 foot strip of ground for the widening_ of a portion of 40th Street between Blandville Road and Sunset Avenue. I further move that such offer be accepted, and that the City Clerk mail a copy i of this motion to Mrs. Parker M. Bray in order that she may execute a deed of dedication to the City. Commissioner Puryear offered motioV, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, as follows I move that this Board receive and file copy of a motion adopted by the Paducah Planning, Commission on August 29, 1966, recommending acceptance of the offer of Citizens Bank & Trust Companv as Executor of the Will of Margaret T. Arts, to dedicate a 10 foot strip of I ground for the purpose of widening 20th Street between Clark Street and Adams Street, I further move that such offer be accepted, and that the City Clerk mail a copy of this motion to Alie,rt Yarnes, Attornev for Citizens Rank & Trust Company as Executor { of the will of the said tfarraret T.
