HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 25, Page 4, January 22, 1963Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah January 22, 163 At a Regular beeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on January 22, 1963, Mayor Cherry pre- sided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Pendley being absent (1) Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for January 8, 1963 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and I,ayor Cherry (4) . Joe C Marsha Mayor Cherry made the .following appointment: It appearing that the term of reappointed ,' Water Board office of Joe C. Marshall, as a member of the City of Paducah Commissioners of ?'later Approve reappointme Joe Marshal llater Board Works, expired on January 6, 1963; subiect to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I hereby reappoint Joe C. Marshall for a term of three (3) years, so that said Board as now constituted shall be composed of the following members: Patrick T. Lally whose term expires January 6, 1964 Robert C. Morrow whose term expires January 6, 1965 Charles A. Wahl whose term expires January 12, 1966 Joe C. Marshall whose term expires January 6, 1966 Lee Livingston, indefinite term. Commissioner Karnes offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the action of Robert C. Cherry, Mayor, reappointing Joe C. Marshall as a member of the Commissioners of Slater Works. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Cholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4). Chas. A. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Leon Holland of the northeast corner of Lot No. 403 in Block No. 6 of the Rushinr Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveiance to said cemetery grave. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by Blackford Plb. & Heating Co State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company to Billy Joe Blackford d/b/a Blackford Plumbing &- Heating Company for a period of one year from February 1, 1963, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (I.). Kenneth B. Meek Commissioner Hornsby offered the following motion: It appearine from the report o appointed a fireman I Ed Turner, Fire Chief, that Kenneth B. Peeks, an Applicant -Candidate in the Fire depart- ment of the City of Paducah, has satisfactorily completed the 60 day training period as such Applicant -Candidate as provided by ordinance, I now therefore move that tha said Kenneth B. Meeks be and he is hereby appointed a fireman in the Fire Department, at a salary of $280.00 per month, effective February 1, 1963.
