HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 25, Page 323, October 12, 1965Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah October 12, 1965 323 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamhell of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on October 12, 1965, Mayor Wilson nresided and unon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberg, Parrott and Mayor Wilson (5). ?•layor Wilson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for Sentember 23, 1965 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting nrenared by the City Clerk be annroved as written. Adonted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberg, Parrott and Mayor Wilson (5). Annrove settl- Commissioner Davis offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, as follows: ment Library fire damage I move that a cony of a letter dated October 11, 1965 from A. J. Legeay, Chairman of th Board of Trustees of Carnegie Library, to General Adjustment Bureau, Inc., stating that said Board of Trustees has voted to annrove a settlement of the December 30, 1964 fire damage claim in connection with the Library building in the amount of :1;66,613.41, and on the contents of said building in the amount of $51,331.59, be received and filed. I further move that such settlement be annroved, and that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute all necessary instruments in connection therewith on behalf of the City. To nrovide source for this extension, and better circulation for fire protection in this area, the Commissioners of Water Works desire to extend a 6 -inch water main along Pines Road from 36th Street the existing, main on Pines Road 75 feet west of Bellevue Drive, a distance of annroximate 750 feet. 71 m,l oy i• Parris Bynum Robt Vannersor/ Parks /r. Harris t Annlicant- yI r niiIate ire gent. i; I, therefore, move that the netition of the aforementioned nrooerty owner, and the recommendation of the Commissioners of Water Works, be received and filed, and that the Paducah Water Works, through its Board of Water Commissioners, be authorized to extend the water mains as requested, and to install one fire hydrant on Pines Road, and one fire hydrant at the intersection of Bellevue Drive and Phillips Avenue. I further move that the adontion of this motion be considered an agreement on the nart of the City of Paducah to nay fire hydrant and main rentals, as nrovided i the franchise, on the water mains and hydrants referred to above, said rentals to begin when the water mains and hydrants have been installed and Dlaced in service. Commissioner Parrott offered motion, seconded by Commission Kressenberg as follows: On the recommendation of the City Manager, I move that the following nersonnel chan?es be made: 1. Parris Bynum be emnloyed as Sunervison, in the Parks and Recreation Denartment under Class C, at a salary of $1.25 ner hour, effective November 1, 1965. 2. ?obert Vannerson be emnloyed as Sunervisor, in the Parks and Recreation Donartment under Class C, at a salary of :01.25 ner hour, effective november 1, 1965. 3. City and" Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE, Urban Renewal ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, A CERTAIN AGREEMENT OF COMPLIANCE BET-Izv! THE URBAN RENEWAL AND COMIMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND SAID 1 CITY", be adopted.
