HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 25, Page 126, April 28, 1964No 126 Proceedings of Foard of Commissioners City of Paducah April 28, 1964 it At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on April 28, 1964, Mayor Wilson presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (4), Commissioner Fendley being absent (1). Mayor Wilson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for March 24th and April 15, 1964, be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (4). i Employ Commissioner Davis offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that Seasonal Laborers the following named persons be, and they are hereby, employed as Seasonal Laborers in Cemetery the Cemetery Department, effective May 4, 1963, at a salary of $1.00 per hour: Louis Johnson Ira B. Wallace Clarence D. Rust James Ellis Walker Such employment is temporary and no civil service rights or other rights under any law or ordinance shall be covered by this employment. Adopted on call of the Poll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (4). Settle clam Commissioner Davis offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby as follows: Nathan W. Smith ti I move that the claim of Nathan 11. Smith (1746 Clay Street), in the sum of $131.30, for damages to his motor vehicle by a truck in the Public Works Department, on or about) March 11, on 21st Street near Kentucky Avenue., be allowed; and that the Treasurer pay said claim after securing a full and complete release. Adopted on call of the Poll., Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Hornsby, Kressenbera and Mayor Wilson (4). Sewer Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg Refuse Settlement as follows: I move that the reports of the Paducah Water Works be received and filed, :arch 196E and that the following checks be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the Froper accounts: Sewer service charge for March, 1964 $9,511.50 Refuse collections for March, 196L 10,278.00 l Pad accounts collected furing March 22.00 Adopted on call of the Poll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberg and l-.avor Wilson (l.). Request bids V 11 Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg, that a Forring Machine 1, (resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE FOGGING MACHINE FOR MOSQUITO CONTROL", be adopted. Close portion Commissioner Davis offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an 33rd Street and':!1/ alleys b, ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF 33RD STREET AT ITS INTERSECTION WIT THE BRANCH, AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF CERTAIN ALLEYS IN THE SAME VICINITY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson W. Annex property 11/ Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg, that The United Church I of Christ an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THE UNITY CHURCH, THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS", be adopted. Adopted on tail of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (4). Amend ordinanceCommissioner Kressenbere offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that closing streets' k alleys in an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN Chamblin, Murray & Brown Add. ORDINANCE CLOSING PORTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS IN AND ADJOINING CHAbiBLIh', MURRAY AND BROWN ADDITION IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON FEBRUARY 25, 1964", be adopted.
