HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 25, Page 109, February 11, 1964Proceedings of Board of Commissioners ------- City of Paducah February 1.1, 1964 Dr. Norman Parrott appointed Planning Commission At a Rerular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on February 11, 1964, Mayor Wilson presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (5). Mayor Wilson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for January 28, 1964 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hornsby Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (5). Mayor Wilson made the following appointment: Subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I hereby appoint Dr. Norman Parrott as a member of the Paducah -McCracken County Planning Commission for the unexpired term of former member Emmett L. Beyer, said term.expiring on March 19, 1964, so that said Commission as now constituted shall be composed of the following members: CITY MEMBERS Dr. Norman Parrott whose term expires on March 19, 1964 Earl Smith whose term expires on March 19, 1964 Jim Lyne whose term expires on March 19, 1966 R. L. Brockman, ex officio member (City Manager) j T. A. Bradley, ex officio member (City Engineer) COUNTY MEMBERS I. N. Hunt whose term expires August.1, 1966 Mrs. LaNelle Boyles whose term expires August 1, 1966 Martin Conrad whose term expires September 6, 1967 J. T. Police Report/ Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the report of the Police Department for Jan. 1,964 , the month of January, 1964, be received and filed. Report Paducah Commissioner Fendley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Davis that the McCracken ;! Develrpment / report of the Paducah -McCracken Development Council for the year 1963, be received and Council for ` year 1963 filed. Bond of Ellik Commissioner Fendley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Davis that the Bond & Thomason of Ellis & Thomason, Inc. in the amount of $3,000.00 dated January 21, 1964, be received approved and filed. Commissioner Kressenberr offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby that Donald Morton Evans be employed as a policeman in the Police Department of the City of Paducah, at a berrinring salary of $295.00 per month, effective February 16, 1964 at 8:28 P.M., provided that by such time he furnishes, at his own expense, the City Managa with a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition, including an electrode diogram. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Wilson (5). Commissioner Kressenberr offered the following motion which was seconded by Commissioner Hornsby: In connection with the Board of Education tax rate for 1964, j I move that the following be received and filed: 1. Copy of Minutes of the Board of Education Meeting of February 1, 1964, relative to the Special School Tax Rate of 50¢. 'I 2. Copy of Resolution of the Board of Education of February 1, 1964, relative it to the Regular School Tax Rate and Poll Tax. 3. Copy of the General Budget for 1964 of the Paducah Independent School I� District. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hornsby, Kressenberg and Mayor Milson (5). Commissioner Kressenberg offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby that the Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Kentucky Steel Erectors, Inc, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from February 10, 1964, be received, approved and .filed.
