At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:00 P.M. on November 18, 1959, Mayor Pro Tem
Hook presided, Mayor Jacobs being absent from the City, and upon call of the Roll the
following answered to their names: Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem
Hook (3), Mayor Jacobs and Commissioner Fairhurst being absent (2).
Mayor Pro Tem Hook offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of
Called I•ieeting to be held at 4:00 P.M. on November 18, 1959, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem
Hook (3).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR 14AYOR PRO TEM OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO EXECUTE,
ON BEHALF OF SAID CITE, A PETITION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY AND THE ELECTRIC
PLANT BOARD OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY TO BE FILED BEFORE HONORABLE ROY M.
SHELBOURNE, PRESIDING JUDGE, UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT, WESTERN DISTRICT OF KENTUCKY,
FOR THE APPOINTMENT BY HIM OF A THIRD MEMBER TO A BOARD OF APPRAISERS ESTABLISHED UNDER
A FRANCHISE SOLD BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY TO KENTUCKY UTILITIES C0I4PANY ON
SEPTEI,i"BER 17, 1940, AND SETTING FORTH SUCH PETITION IN TWORDS AND FIGURES", be adopted.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem
Hook (3).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY 14ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH
WITH ITS REQUIREMENTS OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS
LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE
CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JANUARY 1, 1960 TO JUPIE 30, 1960", be admpted. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (3).
Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: I move that all city employee
who ordinarily work on Saturday, with the exception of the police and fire departments,
be allowed a holiday on Saturday, December 26, 1959.
I further move that the members of the police and fire departments be allowed
compensatory time off at later dates upon authorization of the department heads.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem
Hook (3).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
