Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (4). Settle claim of Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the claim of Mrs. Cozette Tichenor Mrs. Colette Tichenor against the City in the sum of x70.00 for damages to her motor vehicle by an alleged street defect in the vicinity of 401 Brown Street on October 12, 1959 be allowed and that the Treasurer pay her such amount after securing a full and complete release. Election Report Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the report of the General Election held (General) 1959 , on November 3, 1959, be received and filed. Police report;Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the report of the police department for October 1959 the month of October, 1959, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (4). s / Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the letter from Ed Turner, Fire Chief, i addressed to the City Manager dated November 2, 1959, advising that James Donald Rucks has completed fifteen (15) days of probationary period in the fire department and recommending that his appointment be made permanent as of November 1, 1959, be received and filed, and I further move that the said James Donald Rucks be, and he is now, made a permanent employee of the fire department. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (4). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that exonerations prepared and delivered by the City Treasurer, being No. 238 through No. 299 inclusive, be received and filed, and that the amounts of same totaling .y2,793.04 be exonerated on the tax bill~ shown and designate by said exonerations. Turner, Fire Chief, DeMumbree / permanent r addressed tb the City Manager dated October 31, 1959, advising that Ernest Clifton fireman lDef4umbree has completed fifteen (15) days of probationaty period in the fire department and recommending that his appointment be made permanent as of October 31, 1959, be re- ceived and filed, and further moved that the said Ernest Clifton Deldumbree be, and he is now, made a permanent employee of the fire department. Commissioner Hook offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE Change name �/I', 41st Street to CHANGING THE NAME OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF (SOUTH) 41ST STREET TO 'WEDGEWOOD PLACE+", Wedgewood P1.1' i HE ADOPTED. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Gholson, i Hook and Mayor Jacobs (4). Settle Suit / Commissioner Fairhurst offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Chas Hatfield H. Warren Middleton, Corporation Counsel, and Earle T. Shoup, Assistant Corporation counsel, I move that the McCracken Circuit Court Civil Action #3203 of Charles B. Hatfield and wife, Katherine W. Hatfield, against the City of Paducah, seeking samages i in the amount of $1$,000.00 be settled and compromised for the sum of $6,500.00; and further move that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to issue a check of the City of Paducah for said amount to the said Charles B. Hatfield and wife, Katherine W. Hatfield, and Waller, Threlkeld, Whitlow and Byrd, Attorneys, after securing a full and complete release approved by said Corporation Counsel and Assistant Corporation Counsel. Warr Mary Hust J Middleton, Corporation Counsel, and Earle T. Shoup, Assistant Corporation Counsel, I move that the McCracken Circuit Court Civil Action x#3401 of Mary Hust against the City of Paducah, seeking damages in the amount of $15,000.00 be settled and compromised for the sum of $3,000.00; and further move that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authori and directed to issue a check of the City for said amount to the said Mary Hust and Reed & Hines, attorneys, after securing a full and complete release approved by said Corpor- ation Counsel and Assistant Corporation counsel. FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) NEW 19f Department AUTOMOBILE FOR USE IN THE INSPECTION DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND PRESCRIBING TF CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be introduced and remain on file for a 1 public inspection for at least one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
